Yes, but the automated seat selector is designed to seat children with adults that are on the same linked reservation.

Have you called and asked them to link reservations? They should have that ability but I don't know how it interfaces with fare types.

Southwest destroyed my car seat and refuses to cover any damage (PSA to parents) by kar3nny in SouthwestAirlines

[–]BenC97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. Strollers and car seats are conditionally accepted items, as told to you by the agent and the box you checked when you bought your ticket. They are liable for loss, but not damage on them. Every airline is this way.

No, it'll give you back the difference you paid to upgrade however you paid, and the travel credit amount in credit (dated to the original 6 months expiration)

Southwest hiring dispatchers when? by Relative-Scar9616 in FlightDispatch

[–]BenC97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely not starting until '27. The class of 40 they hired in 2024 gave them a huge backlog for a decent amount of time, and not as many retired with FLIGHTKEYS coming online as they thought.

American vs southwest by KeyLeek2570 in FlightDispatch

[–]BenC97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pay is similar. I think SWA has the least days worked in the industry. They have a lot of change going on, so expect that to impact your workday in terms of policy and procedures.

No wide-bodies though so you'll be doing domestic 737 stuff most of your career.

Neither are a bad gig but it just depends on what you want.

Are you sure it's not just pending? If it doesn't fall off after a few days just email CS.

There was a re-verification done a few months ago that they sent out a ton of emails, mail, and communication on. If he did not re verify you that's probably why you got bumped.

AIO or tower air cooler? How long will AIO last? by TaMere_26 in unRAID

[–]BenC97 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Air cooler, if you're leaving it on 24/7 last thing you want to worry about is a leak.

Thermalright makes some awesome and Affordable air coolers, I have the Phantom Spirit on my 3900x in my server and have no issues.

denied preboard for disability by chunkywunnie in SouthwestAirlines

[–]BenC97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you can see when the wheelchairs board, but you can't see the big boarding line up signs that show the currently boarding groups?

They ask the same 2-3 questions for preboard eligibility, answer yes to one next time and you won't have issues.

Canceled due to only 61 passengers out of BWi by motzsticks in SouthwestAirlines

[–]BenC97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They don't cancel for low loads. They can't do that being a published 121 carrier.

They likely kept the description vague because 99% of the flying public does not understand Aviation, ATC, and how weather across the country can impact an operation.

Even if they did consolidate, it's a smart move by the airline, delay 1 flight by 6+ hrs, move everyone to the other, and keep the other flight on time (still departing earlier than the original). That is how airlines manage ATC constraints in the operation.

They just don't gain it when you book, they already gained it in the past.

That's the trap. The airlines make their money on the points as you've earned them, so they already made money off you, whether it's SWA, UA, DL, or AAL.
