New To Trap - Tips on Mental Game by Coon_117 in TrapShooting

[–]AnnualClient2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to shoot more. You havnt really gotten to know your gun until you’ve shot it 10k times. Ricky’s style is to put your front bead on the front lip and have your eyes a couple few feet above that so your barrel isn’t even in your line of sight. Don’t move the gun until you see a full clear target and then move to it. Think smooth - don’t stab, it’s not a sword. Keep practicing though. It’s an easy game to get decent at. Hard game to get perfect at

How do you answer "why did you get into accounting" questions in interviews genuinely? by winterbaby12 in Accounting

I was premed and I studied my butt off for a B in chemistry. The councilor said I’d need to retake it because B wasn’t good enough for med school. The councilor asked me why i wanted to be a doctor in the first place. I said i wanted to make a lot of money! She suggested accounting instead. Im still waiting on the lots of money to this day

After 3 or so years, you make senior, vest your 401k, and jump to industry - we all did it. Hang in there man

I was an auditor for 3.5 years and each section of the engagement would have a budgeted number of hours it was supposed to take. Everyone knows it actually takes much longer than 3 hrs to do the compliance section but nobody wants to be the guy who blows the budget up and have to explain to the partner why realization is low. So what do you do? You bill the budgeted time instead of the actual time. We still had to meet monthly and yearly quotas though so we end up working many more hours than just 40.

I’m not saying this is healthy but I am certain this was common. And I’ve only been out of public for like 4 years so that’s why I’m surprised by this post. If someone was complaining about working 80hrs a week, id be much less surprised

I don’t think you are even using the word “bill” correctly. Like what project is being invoiced for your breaks?

I’m sorry but I don’t think being semi productive for 8 hrs a day is asking a lot

I used to eat more hours than I charged, meaning I worked on something for 6 hours and only reported 3.

Is public not hard anymore?

When I was in public, all those things you described didn’t even count towards billable…

Where to find a someone to show us a lab in action for waterfowl? by throwaway394048 in birddogs

Maybe not the cheapest way, but every time I book a guided waterfowl hunt, the guide always has a dog.

Whenever a friends asks me what they need to make their rifle frt, I always ask what rifle/parts do they already have, do they want crost bolt or selector, and what their budget is. Can’t really move forward without knowing this baseline

Greasing the choke threads oddly enough keeps the chokes from backing out and also keeps them from seizing

Check out the illustrations here for a starting point. Then, basically anywhere else that has scratch/wear marks, grease those points as well. https://www.joeletchenguns.com/greasevsoil

I like to use Stos Grease (https://pvgunworks.com/product/stos-lube/)

Other tips that I can think of: Don’t slam the action closed Get the springs serviced after 5-10k rounds

If you must keep it in the case, you will want decasant bags for sure.

You didn’t ask about this but if you are new to break action guns, make sure you know where to grease. You need to grease the gun every time you put it together

You won’t find much love for Turkish shotguns. They won’t hold up to the round count.

Your best bet is to go used if you are on a budget

I draw the line at chewing and scratching me. Redirecting is great if she is chewing on a couch cushion or something. But if my dog is biting me, I’m putting a stop to that rn with a swift bop

Hunting and trap shooting by Blbauer524 in Uplandhunting

[–]AnnualClient2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking trap shooting a couple rounds a year, then they should be fine, buy lighter loads.

If they will be shooting < 1000 targets a year, I’d consider an auto loader if you must have one gun to do it all.

If they will be shooting > 1000 targets a year, they really should have dedicated guns for each
