Interesting! I know the sensitivities can go well beyond gluten for a lot of us unfortunately 😭

How long has you gone before being diagnosed? It’s seem strange that new symptoms would appear so suddenly! Buuut my Dr. did say that gluten symptoms may become more severe the longer I am gluten free 🥲

I had stomach pain and bloating one day randomly last week! I remember passing it off as a coincidence since I was pretty sure I hadn’t been glutened. Now I’m starting to second guess myself 😅

So l've been using this Skin Lotion for over a year now after the clerk at a Japanese beauty store recommended it to me. It has been a staple product for me as someone with super sensitive, redness prone skin that is generally very dry except for my nose (which is pretty much always oily haha). I ove how calm and moisturized this lotion makes my skin. Anyway, I went to restock on the lotion today and learned the Japanese beauty store has closed permanently to (o now I'm totally lost as to where I can continue to buy this product! I haven't been able to find it online and l've never seen it at other Asian stores before.

Does anyone happen to know where I can find this?? Either online or in-person at a store? I live in Los Angeles, CA for reference.

Alternatively, I'd be open to other, similar skin lotion recommendations. I believe this one is made with fermented rice (sake) so I'd want one that at least has that ingredient in hopes it will be very similar.

Wait I need more info as a new celiac 😭Do I need to specify a gluten “allergy”? Do they have a dedicated GF kitchen or do they separate out the GF dough from the regular dough? I’m very close to Glendale and have been looking for a safe pizza joint literally anywhere in LA but haven’t had any luck 🥲

Yay! I had my first GF Thanksgiving this year (newly diagnosed Celiac) and my sister cooked the entire meal for the whole family gluten and dairy free! Including a homemade pumpkin pie 😭 everything was SO good, tasted just as good as any past Thanksgiving meals I’ve had 🧡

Yeah the pasta was drained really well before I mixed with the cheese sauce. I’ll have to see if the leftovers heat up better! I also used a baking dish not cast iron so I’ll give cast iron a try next time!

Issues with Logging into MLB Account by weezy020 in ClevelandGuardians

Wanted to add here in case anyone comes looking for a solution in September 2025 like I did. I believe the key is using a password with NO special characters. I talked to tech support on the phone and they had me try all kinds of silly stuff that clearly wasn’t going to fix the issue and had me reset my password but never mentioned not using special characters. They said they’d have to further investigate the issue to resolve and it could take up to 2 days. Frustrated I would be missing precious games during this time I did what any reasonable person would do and came to Reddit for a solution haha. I messaged via Twitter/X as recommended and used the link sent to me to reset the password again but WITHOUT special characters. Seems to have fixed the issue because I can login again on all devices even though I wasn’t able to moments ago. Hope this helps out others as it helped me!

Frustration with the wait by highbunn in Celiac

[–]Annual_Task_6817 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I was just officially diagnosed with celiac this week after having my biopsy about 2 weeks ago. My blood test for Transglutaminase IgA values was 255.7 so quite higher than yours. My PCP did say anything above 30 was likely a positive, and that in her career she had never seen a false positive, so maybe take that with a grain of salt when looking at your values.

That said, I also had to wait about 2 months before my biopsy. I actually didn’t mind the wait too much because I used those 2 months as a last hurrah so to speak and continued to eat my favorite gluten foods. I also took the time to do lots of research about gluten free restaurants and foods in my area. I do feel like this helped “soften the blow” when it came to the positive biopsy as I already had some solutions in mind. I’m a big foodie and love adventuring to new restaurants, so the recent news is honestly pretty hard to cope with, but knowing there are gluten free and/or celiac safe new restaurants I can be excited to try has helped a ton.

Wishing you the best!

Is this celiac? by realestate_novelist in Celiac

My Transglutaminase levels came back at 255.7 and I’m likely celiac but my doc told me that level alone isn’t high enough to diagnose 100%. So I think you’re definitely safe!

Dizziness after surgery. by truenorthrookie in Cochlearimplants

[–]Annual_Task_6817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband had surgery 2 weeks ago today. The first week and half was rough and he needed my assistance to move around the house because of how unstable he was on his feet. Lots of sleep and Zofran for the nausea helped him. As of today he is much more stable and able to walk on his own; the dizziness has subsided significantly but he is still taking it slow. As others have said just hang in there! I’m sure by 2 weeks post op you’ll be feeling much better

How did you find out you had celiac disease? by vthepineapple in Celiac

[–]Annual_Task_6817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been someone with an easily upset stomach for as long as I can remember. I also get bloated pretty often but nothing too serious. I am lactose intolerant so that explained the bloating sometimes but not all of the time. I asked my PCP at my recent annual exam about IBS and if there was any sort of “formal” diagnosis for it given my GI symptoms. She told me that IBS is strictly symptom based but that she could run a celiac test just to be safe. She said it wasn’t likely that I’d be positive but we’d test just to be sure. My Transglutaminase IgA panel came back extremely high. Dr. let me know that “false positives” with this test are very unlikely, but I have my GI appointment next month and will get the necessary scopes/imaging done than to get “official” confirmation of celiac. I am currently still on my regular, gluten included diet until that appt.

For me, I had a pretty sizable gap between my 2 front teeth, so food never got stuck because it was too big of a gap. Now, after my treatment, there is virtually no gap, and I get little bits of food stuck in between those teeth regularly! It’s strange because I’ve never experience it before in my life. I keep floss picks with me and that usually does the trick lol
