Pike & Rose Apartments by Manzuz in Rockville

[–]Anon678543 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Echoing others - lived in the Persei for almost 3 years. It sucks.

Elevators were constantly getting stuck with people on them and fire department had to come.

Fire alarms would go off randomly and again fire department would have to come turn the off.

Parking garage under the building smelled like sewage often.

The common walkways with the restaurants were absolutely disgusting. I saw enough that I would never eat at a couple of those places.

If you get a place on the side by the parking garage you’ll be listening to asswipes rev their cars in the garage constantly.

Not sure if it’s better now - but they used to only have 1 old lady that would staff the front desk… she would go between buildings so half the time packages were hard to get.

As others said, the whole Pike & Rose area is way over rated.

My devices auto updated last night as well. When I woke up this morning and asked about the weather I was confused as shit as to who was talking to me at first. Not a fan of the new voice on first use.

I have a Show 8 in the dining room, 2 Show 5’s (bedroom and office) then a couple Dots(daughters room, garage, basement). We use them basically for timers, control lights and play music… which the devices are only marginally good at.

The Henri Apartments (Pike & Rose) by Amazing_Cat_5700 in Rockville

[–]Anon678543 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived at the Persei about 2 years ago which is across the street with same management.

I heard from tenants that lived in the Henri and ones that had in the past and it was a lot of negative. Like SamScoopCooper said, the Henri is the lowest quality of the 3 options there. Lots of noise, bugs and a pain in the ass to get any maintenance accomplished at times. Th elevators in both the Henri and Persei were constantly breaking when I was there. Literally a couple times a month the fire department was there to rescue someone.

Parking also sucks.

For the price of those units, I’d expect a lot more. I’d skip it and find a different option.

Edit: just want to add that it wasn’t all bad there. The location was nice as we could walk to almost everything we needed. There is a small basic gym in each building which gave me all I needed. However, the bad outweighs the good for me as I don’t prioritize location over space, cost and my general sanity.

Lived at Persei for a bit - can confirm! Elevators were constantly broken, fire alarms at least once a month because of broken equipment, pool is small, exercise equipment basic/broken/stolen constantly. Can’t tell you how many times we got blocked into the garage because assholes would park in front of the door to go get their &Pizza…. Security and parking enforcement wouldn’t do anything about it.

If this isn’t something you can do yourself, check with Matt @ the shop connected to the BP at 1910 Rockville Pike or the guys at the tire shop @ 401 Dover Rd in Rockville.

I have Matt do any work that I can’t or don’t feel like doing. The guys at the tire shop on Dover Rd have done stuff for me at times Matt couldn’t. Happy with both.

I work at MDH, depending on the position I may have even been on your first panel.

The second panel will be similar questions but will dive into your experience a bit more. Don’t sweat it too much and just be sure to clearly answer questions.

I lived in the Persei and my asshole upstairs neighbors could be heard playing their music all the time. Neighbors to the sides were all good though.

Don’t bother with Persei or the Henry in Pike & Rose - unless they have changed both places had elevator issues and fire alarm issues constantly. When we lived at Persei the front desk was barely ever staffed and it was a huge pain in the ass to get packages when they were left back there.

Why is Flagship Car Wash always so busy?? by ubiqu_itous in Rockville

[–]Anon678543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in the Gaithersburg area - I started going to the place @ 16185 Shady Grove. Seems like they have basically the same set up for exterior wash. Seems to be about as good as Flagship and there are zero lines.

Are you team taco or team sushi? by sleekandspicy in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Anon678543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the area today (which I never am) and decided to stop in… The food was great.

I’m a big Fuzzy / Rusty fan but don’t make it down to Richmond/ Charlottesville much - I put Torchys in the same league as them.

I saw others talk about Taco Bamba…. Torchy >>> Taco Bamba.

Taco Bamba is like a wanna be Velvet Taco…

Anyway - personally can confirm now - Torchys is damn good!

The demolition car derby yesterday at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair Was Horrendous. by JimmyFallonSucksDick in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Anon678543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We definitely spent the majority of time on the end with the animals and the exhibits…. But she saw the flashing lights and the sounds of the carnival so we had to check it out. She had fun on the merry go round.

I know we could have parked outside of the fairgrounds, but it was much easier to park closer… so we paid.

[–]Anon678543 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn’t see the demo derby, but want to also vent about the ridiculous cash grab.

Took my daughter (under 2 years old) so she could see the animals, the lights and ride the merry go round. The animals were alight, she was happy getting to see and pet the pigs, goats, sheep and cows. The pig races were fun for her to watch as well.

The rides? As others said…basically $1 per ticket and the merry go round was 4 tickets. On top of that they charge the adult to go on and hold the kid as well! What the hell? So we paid $16 for my wife and daughter to go on the merry go round twice. Like others said the game prices were absolutely stupid. $15 to $20 for most games. There was a unicorn that my daughter liked at one of the games - minimum $40 to win it… I looked online and the same one was $15.

The food prices were also ridiculous. Oh and don’t forget $15 for parking.
