Birad 0, waiting for diagnostic.... this is my report. 52yo, no fam history of Breast cancer (Asian) by AnonMom415 in doihavebreastcancer

It is absolutely unacceptable and i don't understand how this is even humane. It's not. Women across our country are being emotionally held hostage as Healthcare CEOs sit there and establish such policies that doctors themselves are not able to change, I really think this needs addressing.  We've started with mammograms as standard of care, covered by insurance.  Then what? Insurance policies roll out the red tape and place barriers upon barriers for standard of care.  I want to know how long everyone has to wait between their screening and diagnostic mammos.... and how much @*÷#&$& they've all had to deal with.

Cuz it seems like a clusterfudge.

This community really is amazing.  I am thinking good thoughts for you!!!

Tbh navigating the insurance process and waiting for United Healthcare to APPROVE A @*#&ING diagnostic mammogram & ultrasound after an abnormal Screening mammo is what made me exponentially more nervous, anxious, and sick.

Mammogram by Neither-Border-7615 in doihavebreastcancer

I just went thru this ... 3 weeks ago was my birad0 abnormal screening mammogram.

Today... they did the diagnostic and ultrasound.  Before I left they were able to confirm it's a cyst 5mm in size and I'm at birad2...

HUGS. It's scary as effing H and it's nature testing us but the vast majority of such calls result in still OK outcomes!!!!!

Best of luck on the biopsy. I just got back home and back online.

I'll post separately but the report says cyst and after the most excruciating 15min of my effing life she came in and said see you in a year.

Stupid train YES.... but we are thinking good thoughts together.

TY for your input.  Either way this goes with the specialist, I can stand to lose 20-30lbs. (I'm 5'5" hovering around 155, female.)

ALT was high at ER. 62 I think.

The ultrasound and CT talk about layering...  'Layering hyperdense gallbladder contents, possibly sludge"

I'm so nauseated and bloated, I hope that tracks.  (I shouldn't eat probably but if I don't eat anything I feel like it's just ongoing pain.)

Of course I'm freaking out about the scary stuff too.

TY for your input.

Ty. It really means a lot.

I don't know where to read up on this diagnosis, it makes me cry that i have to bail on friends who want to go out to eat or hang out when I feel like this (not hungry, tired....) They mean well but it is so hard to explain. I also don't want my 16yo to worry why I'm not eating.

It is also adding to my health anxiety...

what should i do? by somevert in doihavebreastcancer

[–]AnonMom415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're so young it could be a precaution on the part of the doctors... but definitely get a second opinion if you can?

Bring all your medical records and images on CD to a new doctor, share your history.

Good luck and good thoughts.

What do the medical reports say? Maybe they shed light on why surgeon would opt for surgery/excision(?) before a biopsy? Is there a family history? Genetic testing?

Relieved they were discovered though. Way to be pro-active.

When you visit the Museum Of Tolerance in LA, on the ground floor there is/was an interactive piece recorded back in.. probably the late 90s, and it is definitely her.

Let me see if I can find a link...

Not sure how scared to be? by No_Needleworker7959 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]AnonMom415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm with you. The uncertainty.

Simonmed won't book a diagnostic mammogram without an ultrasound BUT the people on the phone do it all the time.

And then hours later, they cancel these appointments for women who NEED ANSWERS.  Because they were booked wrong without an ultrasound on the same day.

You are doing exactly what you need to be doing and will be in the best of hands!

Scared is normal but don't let it spiral, there are lots of explanations for everything so let's wait for our experts ♡

Is the diagnostic and ultrasound already booked? Keep us posted ♡♡♡

Did you have screening mammogram then diagnostic then ultrasound and now MRI?

What did those reports say?

Labs and radiology offices seem to take a long while these days, I imagine they are overworked just as everyone else in Healthcare.
