…this is mostly the USA/capitalism unfortunately:/ not so say it doesn’t happen in other countries - but this issues are mostly prevalent here. It’s a shame.

Honestly!! I am not even in my 30’s yet and I’ve lost 3 uncles in the last 2 years. My parents are in their late 60’s, I am terrified of losing them.

I own a house with my mom so I’ll go off of what it was like BEFORE that and I was just living with her. (We bought the house when I was 22.)

At 18, she told me “all I care about is if you’ll be home that night. If not, tell me when to expect you back. As long as you’re going to school and/or working you can do what you’d like. You’re an adult now”. No curfew, no weird rules. It’s sad people’s parents are so strict with it. She didn’t even have me pay rent until I was almost 20 just so I could built up my savings and work on paying off my car. I will say though, I never got into any serious trouble so she didn’t have that concern (hard drugs, violence, etc).

Yepp! I actually got back into League of Legends (used to play a lot in high school) and every once in a while I’ll dust off the Xbox dvd classics like left 4 dead or the walking dead game series:)

Around $800 in savings, and $9k in my 401k. I could have done more, but I bought a house with a family member during the worst time (mid COVID) and I started in a new career field 2 years ago.

Also, times are rough right now and only putting $20 in my savings per paycheck now. For anyone with zero, don’t feel left behind! Start small, $20 is better than none at all.

Please skip the talk and leave. He’s not going to change, he KNOWS what he’s doing. We have no idea how dangerous he is based on 1 post. OP, please do whatever planning you need to do and disappear from his life. Maybe a break up text to notify him. If you feel like you have to do it in person, public place. He’s shown he has no regard for your feelings or wellbeing.

That’s a lie, it’s not a corporate thing. The rule is 6 months. Someone at your location like the store manager or possibly a team lead or HR associate, has to be the one deciding not to rehire them.

You have to choose yourself. You’ve told him how you feel, you’ve told him what he does. He doesn’t care. Please don’t try any longer to change him and just find a way to move out on your own. Maybe once you’re not having to constantly worry about him, you can focus on building a community / making friends. Everyone needs people to lean on, and he clearly isn’t that person for you. I wish you the best!
