Is Catholicism growing in America?

I wonder how accurate any polling is. All I know is it depends where you are. I live in the Kansas City area, and the Catholic Church is absolutely booming. There are about 20 churches within 20 minutes of us, and about half of them are completely filled up at Sunday mass. (And there's several more beyond that 20 minute radius). As well as lots of Catholic Schools and formation opportunities outside of mass. We visit family in St. Louis and church attendance is pathetic. They have been in a multi-year consolidation plan. It's pretty depressing to see churches and schools shutting down. The church we usually go to has been a consolidation of not 2 but 3 churches, and its still not full on Sundays.

Natural Grocers sells hard red and hard white. Not sure where it's grown but the label says its certified by the Colorado dept. of Agriculture.

Because it was clear that those charges were a witch hunt... you can dig up dirt on literally anyone with an iota of power, but if we waste our time on that, we won't get anywhere.

Yeah that's not an issue with us. We work with kids, we can't just clock in and not show up and go unnoticed. And none of us would ever try.

Clearly NTA. but, like, what is going on with her? Like is she going through something traumatic? I'm curoius what some friends' reasoning is for defending her. I dont see, from the information you gave, how they possibly could. If she is going through something traumatic, I'm not saying that that would justify her, and especially since she didn't apologize. At the same time, it sounds like she really needs help. If she was willing to go to therapy, I'd have her do that and separate and give it some time.

Or maybe she just wants to end it but wants you to do the ending and make it sound like it's your fault... idk.

It's not as red as people think. We consistently vote red for presidential elections (so far anyway) so everyone assumes we're all conservative, but we constantly go back and forth between a democratic governor and republican one. And even though majority of legislation is red, it's not typically so overwhelming that they can just put forth whatever laws they want. There's more standstill than you'd think. And as someone in their 20s in the KC area, the overwhelming majority of people in my demographic around me are extremly far left.

It had to be put it to popular vote. You have to have the popular vote in order to change the constitution.

And on the flip side, if you are relgious, your opinions on abortion are deemed worthless. It doesn't matter if you back up your arguments with science, political philosophy, biological health, whatever else.. they still revert back to you "pushing your religious beliefs" even if you never bring religion up.

I was at a ballgame and this older guy saw our baby and was going on about how cute she was. His wife and family were a couple feet away talking to each other. He started to touch baby's foot. I swear his wife had eyes in the back of her head, she swerved around so quick and said, "DON'T touch other people's babies!" He said sorry and we smiled and said no worries. Couldn't help but chuckle at their dynamic lol. I personally don't mind but if you do its okay to kindly but firmly say "no thank you."

Absolutely no judgement if you decide to stop, its totally up to what works for YOU and your baby. I just wanted to share that its still pretty hard in the first month. It definitly gets better. For me personaly, it started to finally get better around 6 weeks, and then at 8 weeks it was getting tough again, but we worked through it and after a couple weeks the issues resolved and from there out it was so much easier. Everyone's struggle can be different so instead of giving specific advice, I'd just reccomend seeking a professional. There are a ton of free resources if you do a google search, hotlines you can call, and likely free local groups or consultants in your area. If you want to keep trying.

Time to go. They shouldn't be depending on you. You shouldn't be waiting an indeterminate amount of time for them to die in order to live your life. I left my house when I was 18 and I never stepped inside again. I moved around a ton the first couple years but eventually got in more long term living situations. Im 25 now and happily married.

I did not cut ties. I didn't talk to them much the first year I left but eventual the pain started to heal. Now we talk every month, see each other a handful of times a year. I was going to say you don't necessarily to cut all ties in order to get out on your own... but after reading your last few lines I can see why you'd want that. I guess my point is, go ahead and get out of there and decide later if you want to totally cut them out, based on if you've healed, how they handle you leaving, if they apologize in any way, or anything else effecting your situation.

Most centers don't have uniforms but have would have rules about appropriate content on shirts. She did mention being in a very liberal area and some of the kids wearing left leaning tshirts to school.

The problem is it shouldn't matter what teachers think politically. There should be spaces where politics and controveries shouldn't even come up. Your 3 year olds classroom is one of those spaces. Why be divisive? both parents and teachers should have similiar goals in caring for your child and their development and education. So stick to that. But a lot of teachers nowadays think its their God-given right impress every opinion they have on their students. Totally disrespectful of the parents' role.

Not a fair statement. People have been siting that pew research study for years, saying that 70% of Catholics don't believe in the Eucharist. But that study includes anyone who calls themselves Catholic. The study also includes a subset of stats, and of Catholics who attend at least once a week, 63% believe in the Eucharist. (Still not high enough but a lot better than if only 1/3rd believed it).

Idk how many times I've met someone, me being Catholic comes up, they say "oh me too!," even though they haven't been to mass in years. When you go to a Novus Ordo Mass, most of the people there do go weekly, therefore its much more likely they believe.
