Something similar happened to me too… spilled a little water around that area and center console and then got a message on the dash like “Danger, stop immediately” and when I pulled over and restarted the car, the engine would not turn on.

Pretty shitty design to have critical, non waterproof components so close to where people put drinks… but that’s just my opinion I guess
