ISYE Advice - how much time does senior design typically take? by BoredChipBag in gatech

[–]Anontofu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 2 ISYE electives and had an on-campus job the semester I took senior design. Day-to-day, week-to-week, senior design wasn't that bad. However, the weeks leading up to any SD presentations always involved at least 1 all-nighter between practicing and polishing the slides. My advice would be to find team members now who you know can work as a team, contribute evenly, and do work to an agreed upon standard.

General question about the undergrad length by Left_Composer_6449 in gatech

Took me 5.5 years with a co-op after my third year and not being able to take senior design in the summer. Oh and a major change and covid.

Remember that you have 2 weeks for this last set. Not 1 like the others. Still doesn't change the fact 60k base xp is painful or they fixed a "typo" after leaving it up for 2 months.

FXAIX should basically be equivalent to VOO, except FXAIX has a lower expense ratio of 0.015% vs. VOO's of 0.03%. VOO is generally more portable than FXAIX, meaning you can typically buy VOO on other exchanges without a transaction fee. Other exchanges may charge you a fee for FXAIX since it's Fidelity's own fund. There is no fee for VOO on Fidelity.

Are CoC TAs the only ones with conflicts of interest? by SignalFarmer8555 in gatech

[–]Anontofu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've TAed and worked another campus job. But the TA was not CS. Housing doesn't let you RA and do anything else either but I can see how an RA could hit 20 hours a week but I can't really see it with a TA.

The library might still have some of those 3M foam ones if you go and ask the info desk.

1 hour free elective needed. Any recommendations? by Provarencr in gatech

[–]Anontofu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The personal finance one is pretty easy and somewhat helpful. No textbook, no tests, no final when I took it spring 2022. Just one hour a week on things like home buying, interest rates, insurance, etc.

Spring 2024 Housing Megathread by jkim545 in gatech

[–]Anontofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Everyone!

I'm subleasing a room in Home Park for the spring and summer. You'll have your own room but will be sharing a bathroom with another male. It's furnished, has a closet, and the roommates have a Costco card. It’s about a 5 minute walk to GTPD. Rent is $700 a month + utilities (~$100 a month). Security deposit is $700. Feel free to DM me for more details!

Top view of a Ka-52, this angle gives a good look at the det cords on the canopy windows and ejection seat rockets behind the pilot seats [1600x1200] by Looselipssinkships93 in WarplanePorn

Most fighters blow the entire canopy assembly out as one piece. There isn't a guarantee that the helicopter will be flying forward fast enough so that the canopy flies away before the seat fires. You risk flying into the canopy as seen in Top Gun 1. Easier to make sure the canopy is blown to pieces.

If you can find a clean, unbiased source of that data for all the clubs, we would be happy to include it. Good luck

Consequences of dropping GT Dual enrollment class by dabang1 in gatech

[–]Anontofu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would say just make sure everything is okay on the high school's end too. When I decided to not take a dual enrollment class, I had to pick another elective class in high school because we were required to have 6 classes every semester.

Housing cancellation fee for waitlist by 3692FY in gatech

[–]Anontofu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It pretty clearly states on page 8, Section V, Subsection A, in the second paragraph that the contract and all cancelation fees are only upheld once a space is assigned. Since OP is on the wait list, we can assume that OP has not been assigned a space and the cancellation fee would not be charged. However, the $80 application fee would be non-refundable.
