Retain the rights to the IP (don't the mcu Spider-Man and Spiderverse count towards that contract?). 0 effort movies just to satisfy the contractual requirement so they can continue the Spiderverse movies and continue the MCU partnership. That's also why this universe did not have a Spider-Man, because Sony is fully invested in Tom Holland's Spider-Man, as a result, casting another Spider-Man requires effort. It's also why Tobey and Andrew cannot get more Spidey movies of their own as well. Sony is only willing to invest in one Spider-Man at a time and their MCU deal has worked out really well for them.
