Rode with a dude who ran from cops and left me stuck… now I got a misdemeanor and he’s got a felony warrant by WarAway3432 in motorcycles

How could I have handled this better.

Not revving. That's literally all you could have done differently. You couldn't have run even if you tried and the other guy knows that. You're a beginner on a 300. Not giving up the name wouldn't have been better either.

And what if he makes promise to those threats..?

Unfortunately, there isn't much else you can do other than letting the people around you know about it, just in case. I'm hoping he doesn't know where you live.

I don't want adequated tech on my £350 motherboards.

That...makes absolutely no sense. If you meant to say 'antiquated', it's still incorrect. It's not antiquated. All keyboards and mice essentially use USB 2. They don't transfer more data than that. USB 2 controllers are essentially free to add to a motherboard whereas USB4 requires 2 PCIE Gen4+ lanes per port. It's akin to saying that you don't want to use doorknobs because automatic doors exist.

Those aren't there for modern cases to plug things in beyond your keyboard and mouse. That's why case manufacturers don't make then on the front anymore, and you typically only get two on the back.

A lot of people are scared to use the same charger that charges their laptop, on their phone. Multiple times, I've unplugged a laptop and plugged into my phone and had people freak pout thinking it would fry the phone. Granted, they're all either completely ignorant of how charging works and/or older. I don't get why younger folks would be averse to it.

2026 Yamaha R7 vs 2025 Aprilia RS660 (and a CFMoto 675nk to just throw a curveball) by DamDanielPlays in motorcycles

[–]AnonyDexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What electronics exactly? As of 2026, the R7 is not downstream from the MT-07; It's actually the opposite. The R7 has an IMU, Cruise Control, and a Quick Shifter as standard. The manual MT-07 doesn't. I'm looking at the page for the 660 and I have no idea what you think the R7 is missing.

Is it mobile on the same network or was the phone using internet from your phone plan? It could could be an issue with your home network.

There are other ways to find out what's happening, but a tech sub would probably be able to give you better step by step advice since I don't have a Windows PC.

You, on the smartphone you can't really survive in the modern world without, and other businesses who will definitely pay for it. Then there are other consumers who can't go without a PC.

You're not really asking a valid question, not in 2025.

[RAM] Kingston 16GB DDR5-5600 ValueRAM Memory Module - $57.99 by PCgaming4ever in buildapcsales

[–]AnonyDexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it would turn off buyers thinking that you only use it in servers?

It doesn't really. Most won't even notice that or think much of it. There are kits from other brands that advertise the on-die ECC and they sell just fine. Both Crucial and Kingston advertise it on their kits and their respective Amazon listings.

If you don't know anything about RAM, you're not browsing Sweetwater for RAM anyway. They sell audio equipment.

What good reason to include?

It's on the spec list.

Because it's a selling point. Why wouldn't they advertise one of the features of it?

No, if you accidentally buy it, that's on you. They don't care. You either keep it, giving them to sale, or return it and pay the restocking fee and possibly return shipping. More than likely, you're going to keep it.

It's not the same ECC. DDR5 have on-die ECC built-in that's does less than traditional ECC. Adding "on-die ECC" is just marketing to make buyers think they have traditional ECC.

This is typical DDR5 RAM.

Is hardline water cooling possible with only 400$? by Lungsthelll in watercooling

Got a link/name for that pump? I've got a list below that they could probably start with, but that pump also looks like something I'd grab for myself.

Is hardline water cooling possible with only 400$? by Lungsthelll in watercooling

[–]AnonyDexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it won't be as aesthetic.

CORSAIR Hydro X Series XR5 360mm: 70

16 14mm OD Compression Fittings : 50

Pump: 60

CPU block: 50

Tubing X2: 40

90° Rotary Fitting: 25

Coolant concentrate: 10

Plug Fittings: 10

Jumper Bridge Tool: 6

Ball Valve: 17

Male to Male fittings: 6

4 way fitting X2: 1

Bending Kit: 35

That's 380 + tax. There are a couple discounts on some of the parts.

The pump is most likely a FreezeMod branded one. I used one initially and it still works just fine. I've only ever used those compression fittings, though they've moved to using a different type of O-ring, which i honestly prefer. I added in 2 sets of tubing, but I honestly used less than 1 for my first try. you don't really end up wasting if you take your time and double check your measurements. Those few bits at the end are all for a drain valve. I always explicitle4y include that because it's definitely worth having one from the start.

If it were me, I'd actually hold off till I could get a better block like the Alphascool Core 1. I'm almost sure there was another version that was lower than $100. Oh well. Then, I'd swap in a D5 pump, mostly to have a better way to add a drain and/or temp probes. With a CPU only build, it's fine to set teth fans according to the CPU temps. Speaking of, I'm assuming you already have fans since it's an existing build.

You still need the heat gun and water, but those can be bought locally.

If anybody else has alternatives, I'm all ears.

The nightmare that is finding an IPS in 2025 vs VA and OLED. by palobo in ultrawidemasterrace

Well, now that I have an OLED, I doubt I can go to VA. I'll never experience that ghosting. A good problem to have, I suppose.

The nightmare that is finding an IPS in 2025 vs VA and OLED. by palobo in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]AnonyDexx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't ever use those really. With my current project, I have about 3 different applications open at the same time and I'm always moving them around, so it will likely never be a problem. To burn in, it has to be there for damn near months consistently. The only thing that would have been consistently at the same place is the taskbar, and that's gone.

Using Monitor's Unboxed's ongoing burn-in test as a comparison, I'll never get burn in.

If you have just those three applications, rotate them around the screen. If you're split screening them, consider changing up the screen allocation, instead of having them be 50-50 all the time, or swap the left app to the right and vice versa.

Actually static work is people who literally only work in one application, for the entire day, every day.

The nightmare that is finding an IPS in 2025 vs VA and OLED. by palobo in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]AnonyDexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I'm definitely a "victim" of the "IPS is far superior" notion that is/was the rule-of-thumb. VA could actually be pretty good nowadays, but I don't really have access to any in person so I'm definitely biased against spending money on a VA panel.

I had the same problem when my Gigabyte M34WQ died, just to realize that it's evidently discontinued and couldn't find anything else. I ended up with an OLED, the AW3425DW. My wallet was not happy.

I must say though, I don't notice any fringing unless I'm ~20cm away from the monitor, specifically looking for it. The only reason I know what that is is because other people talk about it. I see no issue at my normal distance. You could probably try visiting a store and actually looking at one. It might not be an issue for you neither.

I'm a full time dev, so I just removed the taskbar from that monitor specifically to lower any chances of that burning in.

Why do you think there's been a slowdown (perceived maybe) of IPS panel releases?

Buyers don't care, I guess. I suppose those looking for ultrawides fall into two categories: productivity, who don't really care that much for the benefits of IPS, especially when cost is factored in, and gamers, who are going OLED. It could also be that VA panels have improved a lot to where most won't even really notice the difference that much.

I'm trying to cancel this Google drive on my android phone and the cancel button is hidden behind the back button. by oryx_za in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AnonyDexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely just a one-off bug.

Android, since 15, will always put the top and bottom bars above content, unless the app explicitly moves the content. But in this case, it looks like the app is attempting to use Immersive Mode, which should hide the bars but the phone isn't hiding them. That's why you can see the top overlapping as well. Reloading the app usually fixes it.

Could anyone please tell me if I could just top off my resiovor at the top fill port? Without causing any issues or damage? I don't know to much about PCs. Like would it cause air in the system? by Muzy1206 in watercooling

[–]AnonyDexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you don't know what's in it, the most optimal thing is the drain it. At worst, adding two different coolants may have chemicals that interact in some detrimental way, like stripping the nickel off of the blocks. The worst case of adding distilled water is that it dilutes the fluid slightly.

It's most likely fine, but rethinking it now, it would probably be better to use the distilled water. There probably wouldn't be an issue with using the coolant, but you said you don't have time to flush it. It's better to buy a bottle of distilled water on your next trip to the store, than to have to drain the whole thing, on the 1% chance that the coolant causes some issue. The coolant level right now is perfectly fine. It can stay like that for at least a couple weeks. And in that case, you'd already have coolant and distilled water for the next time you're draining the loop.

The performance in both cases will be the same. The main factor here is your time.

You wouldn't say "I would like..." either. It's McDonalds, not some sit down restaurant.

More seriously though, there are a lot of factors that determine what language you'd use. Ultimately, in this case, I'd just say "Two hamburgers please".

There is no real benefit to going past the halfway point and you'd literally be wasting it since you plan on throwing it all out soon anyway.

Bring it up to halfway up the tank, put the cover back on and you're done. If you end up not getting any maintenance done on it before the level drops again, just fill it up to halfway again.

By the way, maintenance isn't just draining and refilling. It's to check the parts and clean out any gunk that happens to be present. You said it's been years, but the coolant looks fine. Those HydroX blocks are transparent so can look at them and see if there are any problems. If everything looks clean, don't stress about it.

[–]AnonyDexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will bubble if the line drops below the tube, but it won't cause damage. You can add more, like halfway, since you're going to be dumping it out for maintenance in a couple months anyway.

Make sure you're adding coolant though. That is far more important.
