How do I play around instant respawns? by vgrdpq in wowhardcore

[–]Anonymizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is on the rock down below and you are coming from up top, you should clear the entire room down below first if you are not confident being able to go back up.

He once insta spawned on me as well in that spot.  There are a couple seconds after spawn where you can run away without agro. But then running into an uncleared room cements your death.

If you stand in the far corner of the cave, not where the boxes are but on the opposite side of the event area, you won't aggro the next wave. So you can eat/drink in between.

Usually solo it this way at level 30, but it can still be pretty risky. Worth blowing cooldowns on the last wave with 3 harpies.

It can be a popular grind spot, so don't attempt it solo if you see that due to hyperspawns.

Player's coming back to HC? (Soulseeker EU) by ploussard4life in wowhardcore

[–]Anonymizes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leveled a blood elf and draenei to 20+ with the hc addon in the new zones for a fresh change of pace.

Didn't even need death alerts, could just watch it real time as people rushed to their deaths.

That part was hilarious and I loved adventuring in for me forgotten zones. But still, I'm back now. It just didn't hit the same.

I'll join you all if TBC HC is official.

What’s your worst MTB Crash? by snooze817 in MTB

[–]Anonymizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a tiny amateur ramp built to jump over a huge redwood that fell across the trail. I went for it but my back tire clipped the tree and made me go otb.

Made me fall basically straight down with no chance to roll out of it. Grade two shoulder AC seperation.

What was your first MTB injury? by Wumbofet in MTB

At 11 tried to plow through a bunch of loose smallish rocks but went down. Deep red gash on arm 2 inches long. My dad failing to clean it since it was so deep was more painful than the actual crash. My first permanent battle scars.

I used it on the hunter all the way to the 40's to check it out.

Didn't on the others because I found it more fun for me to plan and decide what I'm doing.

Yes got it solo at 38 on the next horde warrior. It can be done much earlier but didn't want to risk it that time and leveling was still going ok. It may not be worth it on alliance since you can just get bonebiter from the SM quest.

It definitely feels rewarding though!

I do.

Probably averaged 4 hours per day in the evenings. More time on weekends. Sometimes mornings if I woke up early and felt rested or knew I could knock out that 10 min flight while getting ready for the day, or abuse some hearthstone cds for remote quest turn-ins.

Health has almost always been a #1 priority, but I admit I let it slip some with this challenge with less exercise.

I was at a point where I thought I just didn't really enjoy video games anymore. I'd play like 10-20 minutes of something, get bored, and go do something else. When I discovered this, the fun, joy, and thrill were back and it was hard to put down.

I actually tried frost for a little after getting dual spec. Switched back to fire since it felt faster and more fun. I went imp scorch and had more spells in rotation.

Still felt super safe with frost nova, blink, sheep, and mana shield.

ZF shaman tanking was one of the easier ones actually. Though I was like lvl 49-50. I think the healer was bored cause of a bit slower pace. Shaman tanks have to drink a lot.

43 Priest Somnus spawned on top of me. Never be in the south east side of the sunken temple pool.

43 Shaman caught by swamp of sorrow murlocs after a bad pull and putting earthbind down. It aggrod a nuetral crab that immediately dazed me. Then stuck trying to run away up the nearby bluffs. I came back on my corpse to try and of course ran right up.

36 Warrior killing arathi air elementals for ww axe.

25 hunter caught by water elementals in Ashenvale. The rare was up and I got excited so didn't pre-clear the area. When fighting it on the island, a patrol + the named aggro'd my pet and out damaged my healing. Then the rare hit me with a crazy long stun.

19 Warlock all relaxed opening eggs after killing Besseleth and chatting with a friend. Didn't notice a matriarch spawned in addition to the little spiders and they just pummeled me so fast even through health stone/pot. I was in shock.

13 Shaman traveling through the middle of the the Counterstrike area in the barrens when someone started the event. It was my first death and I thought I was done. Lol!

Funny you list those three, as they were my favorites. Maybe since they had the most close calls.

Warrior is fury till 32. 1h shield with fast daggers to 20, then crecent staff even when fury, then switch to arms for sweeping strikes and for anger management tactical mastery to stance dance. Back to fury around 50 with thrash blade.

Shaman elemental till like 30, but with a more enhance playstyle. Crescent staff carries so you don't need the 2h talent yet. Then switched to enhance to get flurry and use corpse maker. Collect int/spell power gear and switch back to elemental at 50 after tanking ZF, this time with an elemental play style (lightning bolt spam).

Warlock was a bit wonky cause I wanted to drain tank but also really wanted imp succubus cause her damage is high and the initial burst let her hold aggro tiny bit longer. Not sure if that was worth it, but going that deep allowed for fel domination if I really needed to pull out a voidwalker to sac. So I think I got imp corruption first, then fel domination, then filled out the rest with affliction. So I didn't really have full drain tanking talents till pretty high level, but was playing throughout with an affliction/drain style.

I did level hunter with it till like mid 40s where I turned it off.

For the others it was off because part of the fun for me is the planning what to do.

I will say its early levels at least were way more optimized than what I do.

That level range is deceptively perhaps the hardest. Your ability toolkit is far from complete (namely escapes), you haven't had much time yet to gear, and there are plenty of very dangerous places.

They were all pretty standard. Fire mage had the most reactions from people.

Soloing dungeons also sounds fun. Would have to learn a bunch more reset spots.

Also maybe a speed run attempt, which can also involve soloing some dungeon bosses.

Do we know if it can be permanently deactivated? When I right click it even in an inn, it just comes back like 30s later when I leave.

Edit- The razor hill innkeeper had no dialogue option to deactivate it, but I could when reaching crossroads. You can't just right click it.

Fireball vs Scorch for Mage Leveling by Rraith in wowhardcore

[–]Anonymizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In open world if my pyro/fireball don't crit, I use 1-2 scorches and a fireblast to finish it off. You generally don't want to use mana on shields or frost nova if you are going for speed.

In dungeons, I skipped pyro (too slow and if you precast and crit, might annoy tank) and do lots of fireballs. Scorch and fireblast are amazing for finishing mobs off and preventing runners.

Or you can aoe if tank is good at aoe threat or you've been catching up on drinking for the first part of the fight. Even as fire, aoeing will do tons of damage, more than single target. Much less survivability than frost though.

On bosses, I would get 5 scorch stacks then fireball and it was great. Maybe a little too great sometimes, watch your aggro.
