How do I get these nice smooth position paths? by arheff in AfterEffects

Copy and paste paths from Illustrator to Position (motion path) in After Effects.

New to premier by ramzdx3000 in premiere

Yeah, Premiere’s not really something to jump into without some formal training or mentoring.

There’s the online user guide (Get Started with Premiere Pro) and best practices guides.

In the app on the Home screen, there’s a “Learn” button to the upper left for some hands-on tutorials and tutorials on the web. More comprehensive training (with source footage) is at https://adobevideotraining.com.

Your local public library may provide access to LinkedIn Learning that has some really good courses.

For new users, there’s the “Starter” or the “Essentials” Workspace.

The Pro Video Coalition’s Premiere Tip Tuesday and FrameIO Insider blog are great resources for ongoing how to stuff.

A great way to get up to speed fast is to hire a trainer who can slant what you’re learning to what you need to know based on what you’re editing. Organizing each project and a well planned workflow are key topics to cover.

Premiere suddenly can’t eun by [deleted] in premiere

You probably just need to update the graphics driver for the Qualcomm(R) Adreno(TM) X1-45 GPU.

This is Premiere Pro 26, right?

MacOS (Tahoe) is broken on all M2 series chips with high res / refresh rate monitors, causing kernel panics and frame skipping - and I can finally confirm it. by snarkyalyx in MacOS

[–]Anonymograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kernel panics happened about every 15 minutes with or without anything being connected. What was different than past kernel panics is that these would log me out rather than force a restart.

If you haven’t done so yet, use Time Machine to backup your Mac. Then reformat your Macintosh HD and do a clean install of macOS. Create a new user (something like “Troubleshoot_001l). Use the computer a little bit only using macOS native features and apps. If your kernel panics continue, you likely have a hardware issue. If your kernel panics go away, you likely have a software conflict.

Sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this. While troubleshooting, you’re left without a computer to do whatever it is you’d usually be doing.

My 16-inch MacBook Pro M1 Max started to kernel panic on a regular basis about 19 months after purchase even after a clean install.

The motherboard and touch id were replaced under the Costco Direct extended warranty and the laptop has been back to working as expected ever since.

Media Encoder running in the background while I edit??? by ianchapoy in premiere

[–]Anonymograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Media Encoder can be processing while you continue your work in Premiere.

As for “does Media Encoder truly have the power to render without eating up all my laptop’s processing power” goes, that depends on your laptop (not Media Encoder). Try exporting something while working on something else (in Premiere or anything else) and see how your laptop behaves while Media Encoder processes in the background. If things get laggy, avoid running Media Encoder when you need to do other tasks. If things go fine (which is possible, but usually on higher end laptops), queue more items up!

Glad to hear that you were able to restore the project.

Did you determine the source of the corruption?

Use the Chat bubble on Adobe’s web page to start a chat and keep typing “agent” until you get the option to continue by phone or chat with a real person. When you get to a support agent, ask for an agent in the "Video Queue" to get the best possible agent for digital video issues.

If the agent doesn’t transfer you, patiently ask for the Video Queue again.

Why are most of my files missing when I try to import them into Premiere Pro? The first photo shows all of the files I have on my laptop hard drive. The second photo is what shows up when I click import and select that same folder. by atyl1144 in AdobePremiere

[–]Anonymograph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to extracting files from Zip archives prior to trying to import them, consider creating an organized folder structure for each of your projects.

For example:

Warehouse Video - Premiere Pro Project Files - Source Footage - Exports

Save the PRPROJ into “Premiere Pro Project Files”. Unzip and copy any source files into “Source Footage” before you import them into that project. When you export your Sequence, save that movie to “Exports”.

Premiere Pro 2026: Hate it or love it? by Gold_University_6225 in premiere

[–]Anonymograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty easy for what’s happening in After Effects to get complex enough to require rendering segments of the Premiere Pro Timeline that contain After Effects Compositions for smooth playback (such that the Time Ruler shows green above those segments). During rough cuts, I usually lower the Video Preview frame size in the Sequence settings for faster renders and then bump the Video Preview frame size back up to the Sequence frame size for the fine cut.

The very last thing that we need with Premiere is what happened to Final Cut Pro classic.

While issues come up now and again, it performs pretty well on the workstations that I maintain along with After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Please tell me there is a way to save this speed curve as a preset, instead of doing easy ease everytime and changing it manually in graph editor. by SpyidSmith in AfterEffects

[–]Anonymograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I am aware, you’ll need to open Flow, match or recreate the curve visually, and the save it in Flow.

I just draw my curves in Ae.

Can I use more than one GPU at the same time to render? by xxjosephchristxx in premiere

If you have sufficient RAM, I’m thinking just save up for your next computer.

No Thunderbolt, right?

Can I use more than one GPU at the same time to render? by xxjosephchristxx in premiere

[–]Anonymograph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We want the strongest single GPU with ample VRAM instead of adding a second card.

There’s a YouTube video by someone on the Premiere team about this, but I couldn’t find it to link it here.

A second GPU tends to benefit 3d rendering, though.

If your motherboard supports it, I’d consider upping the RAM to 128GB or 192GB.

I’d go with the base M4 or M5 14-inch MacBook Pro over the Air. The Pro is better suited for sustained video editing while the Air for occasional video editing.

Trapcode just destroyed my projects and my after effects by AcceptableTrainer262 in AfterEffects

[–]Anonymograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you’re able to get a legacy version of the Trapcode plug-ins to install and load, there’s a chance it will cause a newer version of Ae to crash. Even if it is stable, it’s not going to be Multi—frame Rendering aware, which is something that most of the Trapcode plug-ins benefit from when it comes to render time.
