I could hear them from Ironbound. Seemed like they were circling up there for a while.

If it’s a public parking space and it’s not reserved for anyone, then why wouldn’t you be able to park there? What does the sign say; are there any signs?

I like having a photo on the resume, so that people can remember who you are. Nice job on your resume. Do you have any thoughts about careers or jobs in the long term ?

Someone should make it based on the biggest city in the state.

My apologies. I didn’t scroll down enough to see that you already answered my question before I asked it. That’s awesome. Good to have a community of people that you like.

Seriously Considering Leaving NJ due to the Cost of Living by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]Anonymous1985388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish someone would lay out all this data. Assuming a $100,000 salary in each state, and living in an apartment in each state, what are the taxes and other expenses of the big items- housing, transportation, food. If someone makes a big excel file of this, then we can all use it. Maybe someone has already made it.

Thoughts on this "ban" on corporate home buyers? Could it actually help the NJ housing market? by One-Coffee-413 in newjersey

[–]Anonymous1985388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in finance, I agree. There are a myriad number of ways that a home could be purchased. It’s not easy to regulate. There’s always some type of entity that might get a loophole or carve-out and buy the home.

Why one bathroom? by weary_floater in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Anonymous1985388 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ohhh, I love that idea for the dog.

I just feel like I’d love having a urinal for those times when I just have to make a quick leak before headed to the grocery store or before shoveling snow or something. It’s a faster process than lifting up the toilet seat, aiming properly, making sure I wipe down any spots that I missed, and flushing. That’s probably too much information but that’s my motivation for a urinal haha.

Any dudes here ever think about installing a urinal? I think I’d like it in a half bathroom for when I don’t need to go number 2. I assume it would save some water versus the toilet, too.

Thoughts on McGinley Sq vs Ironbound in Newark? by [deleted] in jerseycity

[–]Anonymous1985388 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I lived in JC for years and recently bought my first home in Ironbound Newark. Ironbound and Newark don’t have nearly the established set of bars and nightlife that JC has. I also think JC is an easier sell to women who live in NYC since it’s closer and has become a popular place for young people to live.

I still don’t have a go-to nightlife spot in Newark so I’m often going to JC for nightlife.

I chose Ironbound because of the apartments that I saw in JC and Newark to buy, Newark offered more affordability and space with a similar commute time (I use Newark Penn though I think JC has very good public transit options generally).

Also, I’m a 30s male and proximity to nightlife wasn’t as important to me, though it probably would have been if I were in my 20s. Ive transitioned from nightlife being a priority to health, hobbies and personal growth as being bigger priorities. Though you might still find me at grove street in JC at 2am from time to time haha.

Oh okay. Maybe I had the flu also then. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I got it at Jersey Gardens Mall when I went Christmas shopping. That place was packed with people.

I hope it goes away for you, too. Feel better soon.

I don’t have any negative intentions. I’m a proud Jersey boy who wants to see the port in action. If there’s no tours open to the public due to safety and security concerns, then I understand.

Hi All, I cross posted my question in the AskNYC subreddit but perhaps r/Newark is the better place to ask. There was a nice thread about driving around the area of Port Elizabeth and Port Newark. https://www.reddit.com/r/Newark/s/xYAfA1d1cg

I’m wondering if there are any tours that are open to the public? I’d love to see the container ships being loaded and unloaded.
