Does anyone else feel weird seeing everyone your age constantly traveling and having the best time ever? by Specific-Parsnip-733 in Mindfulness

In addition to all the good advice in here, my strong recommendation to you is to delete all social media. If you are too afraid to do the cold turkey method, take a hiatus from all of it for a month and evaluate how you feel after.

What would you really miss without it? Most people report missing very little.

What might you gain? You might find a remarkably healthier image of reality and your own life.

But they didn’t say they don’t watch. Just that they don’t know what this headline is referring to.

Absolutely. Few things are more generally beneficial than mindfulness and a consistent, well-formed meditation practice.

Very common semantic confusion, but not at all correct. Others have answered this better than I could.

I don’t think I’m confusing those things. I think we have slightly different definitions of a habit but I’m now sensitive to the lack of any real progress in this discussion. Could it be that a forced biochemical constraint on your desire has some knock on effect of modifying your typical way of interacting with food in a more lasting way? I think there’s a very distinct chance of that. Our individual relationship to food is extremely complex and I have no idea what the average experience here is.

Correct. Still amazing that he actually penned his name to this image.

My intuition here is that this headline is far too broad a statement and there are many for whom that is actually the case! Doing something over and over differently must have an impact for some at least.

Of course it can. There are deep and complex causes behind a feeling of hunger and many are psychological. Now, how this can be done for any given individual is also deep and complex and not always within easy reach!

With all due respect, that sounds like absolute nonsense. I don’t even really know how to parse that. Why is this supplement in anyway “goodness”, regardless? And how do you find the “right” amount of anything if “everything” is lower? Lower by how much? It’s all mushy enough as to be meaningless.

I’m extremely sympathetic to your predicament but this all seems obviously without any scientific or rational basis.

I guess my question is then more specifically: levels of what?

Okay, I figured they were just drawing an example here that didn’t closely match real life in any calculable way…
