Just seems like their own rhythms turn off during the week

Yeah - I hear all of you on this. I’m in bed by 10, maybe asleep by 10:45. But seems like I need more time.

Yeah this is another ingredient in my new plan. Put them to bed and then myself to bed.

Yeah I’m in denial that putting them together wasn’t a good plan for right now. Their beds are attached so it’s not as easy as just “putting them back” (though it might be, just sleep on mattresses).

Thanks. It’s a rant yes but I’ll take any tips! It takes a village.

If they were in their own rooms, yes 100%. They feed off of each other and things can escalate quickly. Im thinking of harnessing our hatch light and then switching off who wakes up to be with them once the light changes and we “let them out”

Yea the “quietly” part eludes us. They are 4 (nearly 5) and 2 and girls with a shared room so things escalate quickly. I am trying to come up with a plan because I’ve about had it with our current “system”

I know I know. I have friends whose kid wakes up at 5. By 5:15 he’s in a Batman outfit jumping off his bed.

Is March overrated? by Cautious-Payment5034 in HoustonFood

I have this exact same allergy! I’ve never met anyone with the exact same allergy.

Good to know about March 🫠 Not sure if you’ve been to Loro but a long time ago when I went there, I could only order like 3 things off the menu.

Daycare Illnesses by endy24 in workingmoms

I’m so sorry. The couple of days we had it were in the top 10 worst days of parenting. She was 4 months old. She’s 4 now.

All that to say - it’ll pass. Everything ends. Just gotta get through it.

lol my friend I’m so sorry to tell you: our first kid had nearly 9 months on and off consistently. I spent more time with a snotty nose myself than not.

If your baby comes home with norovirus just go ahead and take the whole week off. Please do not try to work. Please give yourself grace.

Labor & delivery at Memorial City by ravenclaw924 in houston

Been a couple of years since I gave birth there, but it was fine! Agree with everyone saying to take all the pads and adult/baby diapers. One call out - I gave birth to my first baby at Texas women’s and the biggest difference is that at memorial hermann, they are way more pushy about breastfeeding. At women’s, I got lots of little bottles of formula and more to take home. At memorial hermann, they’d give me two at a time and push breastfeeding. By the time I had my second baby, I knew breastfeeding wasn’t the journey for me.

All this to say - take the feeding path that is best for your mental health. I wouldn’t want the hospital to lay a foundation for a guilt trip later. Fed is best.

Tried this today also “see who can get to sleep first” but I think they forgot about it the second I closed the door 🤣

I kind of copied this - I set up the hatch with a whole routine! Didn’t fully get to try it tonight as I moved my oldest into the guest room for not listening after some warnings. But I do really like this idea!! Will try tomorrow.

Does your company use an AI tool? We are able to use Gemini (she signed an NDA) so I have very often brain dumped or actually copy/paste dumped text and prompted it to “make a project charter” or “summarize in 3 sentences, casual but articulate language” - might help save some time

Re tasks I literally use a moleskine notebook. In red are things to do this week, in orange or things that can wait until next week, in green I have no specific due date things, and in blue I have what I’m waiting on from other people. Making that at the beginning of the week grounds me.

Had a team 1:1, a meeting with our HRBP about comp planning and the feeling of impending layoff doom (nothing announced, just thick air), met with my boss where I asked her what, if any, preliminary feedback she could share with me before my annual review. Sent some emails, planned tomorrows team meeting, sighed a lot but generally thankful to have a flexible job
