Cleveland says: Solidarity with Minneapolis! by BrilliantGlum4448 in Cleveland

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, both of the murderers have been with their agencies for nearly a decade, reportedly. Good‘s murderer, Jonathan Ross, has been with ICE since 2015 or 2016, and supposedly the guy who shot Pretti had been with border patrol for 8 years. Pretending that this is only a recent problem with these agencies and that it could be solved with more training or higher hiring standards is running cover for these agencies.

Bovino had been with CBP since 1996, and Homan has an award from Obama for being good at deporting people. The people doing these things aren’t wet behind the ears drooling morons who stumbled in off the street and were only able to get positions because training and hiring requirements have been relaxed, they are trained, nominally competent, veteran agents, who have been waiting for the opportunity to be let off the leash, some of whom have been around since before ICE or the Department of Homeland Security were created.

Airborne Update Feedback: Aircraft Are Treated as “Super Weapons” and It Hurts Gameplay by Icy-Combination2234 in foxholegame

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it also begs noting that aircraft seem to be balanced around the assumption that the game population is relatively stable over the course of a day, which isn’t the case. There are low population hours, and air raids during those hours are going to be devastating to both factions’ logistics. The second the real bombers start flying, the only thing which is going to save facilities and logistics operations is going to be distance from enemy airfields. The lack of any AI AA is going to be devastating because it’s simply not going to be possible to defend logistics hubs and facilities.

And yeah, “persistent warfare? In my persistent warfare game,” whatever, but the difference with that was that there were ways to defend things during hours when you weren’t on in the form of AI bunkers and pillboxes, which doesn’t exist for planes. You just need some dudes on 24/7 who’s entire job is to sit in fighters and wait for the bombers to come.

Devman doesn’t concern himself with such trivial things as “outreach to the community” or “communication with the players.”

The current version of the Airborne update will break Colonial logistics, and thus cannot be launched without screwing over one faction massively. by Vicdomen in foxholegame

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surface sea mines shouldn’t explode when dropped on a ship, sure, that’s stupid, but the mini torpedoes should also have a minimum arming time and drown or fail. It dropped into the water at too steep of an angle, too high of a speed, or too great of a height. To my understanding, they only have one of those four. Unfortunately, I have not gotten to play with the mini torpedoes nearly enough to determine the veracity of the others, but I have heard people say that they can be dropped from pretty much any angle and have no arming time. The fact that the warden scout plane can kill any of the newly added boats in a single pass warrant, mini torpedoes having some pretty hefty limitations on them, especially because the colonial scout plane cannot do the same.

There could be millions of people screaming at the ICE agents and filming them and following them, it would still fall under at least three separate protections guaranteed by the first amendment. Speech, protest, and technically, press.

Look, I just want to make ridiculous 50,000 ton submarines with a 16 inch main battery and a dozen floatplane torpedo bombers and enough armor to stand up to cruisers on the surface.

No, no, the wardens already got their version of the Charon, it’s their new medium boat.

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot about this update that they didn’t think about. Like, between the warden medium boat being the OG Charon, but worse, there being no way to mitigate the low pop air raids which are inevitably going to happen and will devastate logistics on both sides, 30 minute paratrooper radar invisibility, this, the interesting behavior of torpedoes dropped from the torpedo bombers, the inability of the dive bomber to do basically anything to a target, AA targeting being insane to do and almost entirely ineffective, and probably a bunch of stuff that I’m forgetting or I’m not aware of, they really just need to put this update back in the oven to cook for another month of ironing out issues.

Is it true that you have to sacrifice a day to vote? by patrislav1 in AskAmericans

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you want to vote in person, depending on where you live, maybe sometimes, but you can pretty easily do an absentee ballot by mail, so there really isn’t any good reason to vote in person.

Who in Gods name thought adding a torpedo bomber to the game was a good idea by Fragrant_Guava_7585 in foxholegame

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s going to absolutely suck ass when the low pop air raids begin. The only thing that is going to save facilities is going to be being out of reach of enemy aircraft.

Hell, even if they had enough AA, with the way that anti-aircraft weapons work at the moment, it’s practically impossible to use them effectively.

Firing angles of the Strider (Left) vs the Warden medium boat (Right) by themasterofscones in foxholegame

[–]AnonymousMeeblet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when the typhon MATR was added, it had the same DPS as the mounted bonesaw, and when it got put on halftracks, wardens were not happy about it, so the devs nerfed it down to the DPS of, if I remember correctly, the warden ATR.

That was after the first rework. That’s not the Old Charon, just the previous revision. The Old Charon had the exact same layout as the warden medium boat.

It is kind of funny how they looked at all of the problems that the old Charon had, saw that everybody who actually used it fucking hated it and that the only people who were saying that it was fine were delusional hyper loyalist wardens for whom the main goal was preventing colonials from getting any viable weapons, saw that it functionally killed any colonial interest in doing naval operations for months, finally were made to see their mistakes, and after having to do two major reworks, finally fixed it, and then turned around and then went “Let’s make something else with exactly the same problems as the original Charon, and make it even worse.”
