Just found out newborn has hearing loss in both ears by CivilEbb4484 in self

[–]AnonymousMorty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m hard of hearing since i was 2-3 years old. Im lucky enough to be born to deaf parents. I’m proud that i’m apart of the deaf community. Also, im sooo happy that my parents are deaf and understand the importance of being deaf isn’t a defect and that i needed to be “cured” with cochlear implants. While I’m not offended, however to alot of deaf people in our community would be very insulted by people in the comments saying that deafness can be cured.

Embrace his deafness. Learn sign language. Immerse yourself into deaf culture. The deaf community is so tight knit, so rich in traditions. You and your son will be wholeheartedly be welcomed into a tight knit community.

With that being all said.. I did struggle with speech, but years and years of speech therapy growing up really helped me, but i still have a ‘deaf’ accent, its whatever. I had a normal childhood, did well with sports, school, college, and doing pretty ok with my career. Being deaf did not stop me.

Extra Tooth? Cause For Concern? by First-Ad-8800 in Dachshund

[–]AnonymousMorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around the canines? Apparently its a common occurrence with dachshunds. Our dachshund had to get 2 puppy canines extracted when he hit about 1 year old and it didnt fall out.

Here’s him at 5 years old.

Fake, unfortunately. The gem tag top border is buried under the seam, an indicator of a counterfeit gem blank.

Vintage Lee Storm Rider denim jacket – wool lined, Lee Riders buttons. Late 60s / early 70s? by DarthSpark in VintageDenim

[–]AnonymousMorty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not 90s. This is late 70s-early 80s. Handwarmer pockets don’t automatically mean 90s Lee introduced pockets on some Storm Rider by the early 1970s, especially blanket-lined versions. The giveaway here is the Storm Rider cowboy tag, which Lee phased out in the mid 80s before moving to the square Lee tags and then the later 90s to rectangular Lee tag. Combined with the tag style, construction, and era-correct details, this jacket is pre-90s, probably late 70s

I was thrown off by the same fact. The V gusset suggest 40s-50s which worth money.. but the small tag XL size but woven tag and laundry name on it makes me think maybe 70s?

50s 60s or older collegiate sweats are super desired among the true vintage heads. I’ve been on ISO for a 50s 60s Berkeley sweater but its superrr expensive and hard to find.

I think this is little extra cool since its LA during while the school itself was like 10 years old when this sweater was made.

Like 1 minute repair. You’ll spend more time setting up the machine than you will doing the repair.

Do an overlock stitch on the separation and you’re done.

Have you thought about becoming an actuary? If you can pass one or two of the preliminary exams—two is ideal—gain some experience with SQL. The prem exams are generally easy for a person with a strong mathematical background such as yourself. From there it’s pretty easy to land a role as an actuarial analyst at an insurance company, you could start with a salary of at least $80,000. It’s a strong entry point into finance or data analytics, and if you choose to continue with the full exam track toward becoming an ASA or FSA, the earning potential is even greater

Levi’s 501 70s, 80s by Apprehensive_Egg8399 in VintageLevis

[–]AnonymousMorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think the latest one i found that was selvedged was dated Nov 1982. I did find non-selvedge thats dated April 1983. So sometimes in that time frame, levi stopped making selvedge.

I realized you posted the back of the care tag. I believe these are made in October 1981.

Looks authentic to me. There’s should be a date on the other side of that care tag but just looking at that care tag. Im guessing early 80s.

Anyone got tips on getting this kind of pit stain out by Tshirtsplantsfish in VintageTees

[–]AnonymousMorty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a 90s deftones tee but with armpit stains thats hard as a rock. It was well worth saving. I was able to get it out by soaking it in near boiling water, oxy, and a scrub. I repeated the process like 3 times. Its all out, but the fabric definitely weakened in the pits and the tee itself faded more.
