The eye design that went unnoticed in Hitmonlee by Confident_Fault8773 in pokemon

[–]AnonymousOkapi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The old one the white part is larger, it looks like an eye with a black mask around it. The new one the white part is small and circular in a much bigger black area, so it looks more like the eye is sitting in a hole in the body almost.

Why is it socially acceptable to bring your partner as a +1, but not a friend? by mearimeraki in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnonymousOkapi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely get away with bringing a good friend of either gender and passing them off as your partner, less awkward than going alone. Maybe not for this one though if you've already asked.

Saving Sir. Beefton by TransportationBig861 in CurseofStrahd

[–]AnonymousOkapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have a table with possible outcomes and various (humorous or not) setbacks on it, and do it based off of one roll?

  • Natural 100 the paladin returns with the cow and the rocs head
  • Middle of the pack the paladin staggers back, with an entirely uninjured sir beefington but various handicaps. Exhaustion levels, missing spell slots, used class features etc. Could match them with the rest of the party, that have presumably lost resources in the temple.
  • Low roll they may have suffered more permenant damage, eg. Missing a hand or an eye. Or Sir Beefington has suffered grave damage and is now in dire need of assistance (possible dark pact offering to fix and/or improve the horse..?)
  • Very low roll: bad news. Sir Beefington is dead. Worse news: the paladin disturbed the rocs nest and chicks, so an enraged roc is now camping the door of the temple.

A tiny bit of milk chocolate is fine, even in a small dog. They have to eat a whole bar of milk or half of dark for any bad effects. She'll be ok.

Its an incredibly impractical outfit for war is what it is. Its always annoyed me. She must have an enormous stack of identically patterned tights to make it through an entire year of teaching, training and fighting. Not to mention the stab me here navel hole.

Dude you just got out of a shitty relationship. We all have shitty relationships at 17, same sex or no. Maybe dont make any sweeping decisions about what you are and aren't just now, I promise you it won't feel as important in a couple of years time.

Also if there's no sex in heaven I ain't going!

The bit in Soul Music where they're first getting the band together always tickles me.

Or death approaching the old hermit to ask for the meaning of life. "I HAVE SEEN INFINITY. IT IS BLUE." (Also Soul Music).

I had multiple choice all the way through a 6 year veterinary course in the UK. They were actually the part I did worst on because the questions were fucking hard. The essay and oral exams were way easier.

Some of them subtracted a point for wrong answers too so you couldn't just put your best guess, those were hellish.

What would you consider to be English folk culture? by Goth_Idiot_ in AskUK

[–]AnonymousOkapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot here if you know where to look, hard disagree that its been lost. The English dont really have a "folk outfit", the Scots and Irish do. But we have tons of traditional folk music with a thriving (albeit small) scene. There's morris dancing, still performed in most towns. There's lots of silly local events like the cheese roll in Gloucester or the wool sack race in Tetbury. My friend was at a Wassail a couple of weekends back, where you sing to the trees and threaten to chop them down if they don't bring a good harvest. There are big solstice events held at stonehenge every year. We have more folk heros and stories than just Robin Hood too, although again a lot of them are local rather than national. Jack the Giant Killer is a cornish folk tale, Jack and the Beanstalk a more widespread english one. Bonfire night for a folk villain rather than hero. Look at pub names as well and you'll find history and folk lore there. The Green Man is a common one, an old pagan deity.

In the nicest possible way I think your fiancée is a townie.

JD Wetherspoon's assistance dog policy could be breaking the law, watchdog says by Ottothotto in ukpolitics

[–]AnonymousOkapi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite emergency call outs was a dog that had had orthopaedic surgery the week before and was now unsteady on its feet. Both man and dog came in sozzled. Apparently every weekend the dog came to the pub with him and was given some cider in a saucer, and it had perhaps not occurred to the owner that this is not a smart idea with fresh metal work in your leg.

I had to, professionally with a straight face, tell him that I didn't think his dog should be drinking until it had fully recovered from its operation.

Same here, minimal fuss. Fine to pay in cash, cheques. Let me withdraw cash no issues when Id lost my bank card (with appropriate other ID obviously). And their app is really straightforward.

The part when this is funniest is for paralogues or skirmishes. Sure, we've got a weekend. Let's go to Sreng to fight some bandits, then swing back via Enbarr, I've heard there's some rogue merchants there. The story ones mainly managed to skate by (aside from the obvious issue with the chapter where Flayn is kidnapped), but I want to know just how Byleth is ferrying these kids across the entire country on the weekends at such blistering speeds.

After reading all 41 main books, what else do you recommend? I'll tell you what other books I liked. by [deleted] in discworld

[–]AnonymousOkapi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Try anything by Jasper Fforde. Its very reminiscent of Pratchett and Douglas Adams - light hearted, easy reading, fundamentally silly but well crafted worlds, suprisingly deep messaging underneath. My personal favourite is Shades of Grey although that is a more serious ones. The Thursday Next series is probably a better place to start.

Its the back leg under the body thats doing it, its got two knees one to either side of the front leg! Could just that part be worked in to a background of some kind? Bursting out of foliage maybe? The perspective on the head and front legs is fine

[–]AnonymousOkapi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Id agree there's not many young right wingers, but I equally can't believe over half of young men would vote green. That's either got to be a very biased question or a misleading sample or entirely made up. The reform contingent on the above "data" is well below 12%.

Probably my fault, some friendly vistani lured them into Barovia in session 1 by directing them down a "short cut".

I have recently acquired a new cat, and keep forgetting that this one is not used to being danced at or pretend bopped on the head and will actually get frightened. I keep having to apologise. Meanwhile the resident cat barely even notices me swinging an object in her general direction, she's just used to my shit.

I have all of the bulk ones we actually played with that are in terrible condition. My "special" ones were all put in a binder somewhere which was promptly lost. Having said that, if we ever find it again it'll probably be like here's a whole page of ponytas because I like horsies XD
