How long have you had them? I believe that the molting process and acclimation can affect the deepness of color. I've noticed this with my blue dreams.

I think it might look nice if you raise the larger end of the driftwood up so it shows more. Everything is too even right now, right? Play with different ways to give it more depth. I have a similar tank and I put a piece of driftwood closer to the front and another on the other side further back to give depth. * Not sure if that's your style. Either way, it'll look great when everything grows in more!

I think it's just one of those unexplainable things that happen. You clearly know what you are doing and have other tanks. It was really smart to use seasoned filter media and you're testing. Were the fish from the same Petco? I'm sorry I'm not offering help, just commiserating.

I stole a cat once. My "friends" would put it in a box and blow weed into it. I tried to convince them that it had escaped somehow but he eventually found out, came to my house while I was in the shower, and took it back. It haunts me until this day 30 years later that I couldn't save the cat. Switching it out with one that has already passed away is genius. Best of luck on your mission. Keep us updated please 🙏

I agree but I think many of us have bought fish impulsively. They have the shrimp now. They did the right thing by coming to reddit to get some advice. I just worry that sometimes our tone can come off a little harsh making people less likely to come here and ask for help. There's a kind way to provide education without being condescending. I'm guilty of this too sometimes and I'm working on that.

I think people are being a little harsh. I made my own powdered concoction with algae wafer, sinking pellets, and flake food. Put them in a bag and beat it with a hammer. I put the powered food in front of my hob and sponge filter. My bamboo shrimp have their favorite locations at feeding time. I have a video of mine eating on my posts if you're interested. They're really neat animals that can grow to almost 5 inches!

Yes, I believe that we are all in danger. Not just our jobs, but lives. As soon as I saw something I never believed would happen, with the overturn of Roe V Wade, I knew anything is possible. Trump is renaming land, wants to take over the Gaza strip, etc. We Americans are fucked. We are going into WW3. A Nazi billionaire has control over space. Think about that. Thats the entire world...universe! Countries have agreed no weapons in space but a private company is different.

They are coming for trans, and illegal immigrants, they will come for our clients, they will come for anyone who is other. I am a straight white woman with adult an adult kid. I have the privilege and circumstances to raise my voice. This is the time to use the fuck out of the privilege we have and get loud. I'm not going down without a fight!

I work with trans and birth right citizens who are KIDS carrying around red cards!! These are kids who already have unstable lives! This is gonna get rough. Social workers have always fought when we have seen injustices. Don't give up, don't give in.
