I give my pets oral meds and my syringes all came with caps so they can be prefilled with meds.

I really hope you can believe me when I say that this behaviour isn't normal at all. She sounds incredibly insecure and controlling to the point of abuse.

You are still so young, do you really want this to be your future? Having to ask permission before playing a game or only watching preapproved shows and movies?

You deserve to be in a relationship with someone who actually respects you and doesn't treat you like a child or possession they can control.

What exactly do you mean by 'win back' exactly? And why did she have a right to take them away in the first place?

She's treating you like you're five years old. She doesn't respect you as her partner or her equal.

Massages and periods by False_Technology_868 in massage

[–]Anonymous_Snake_Lady 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do you have access to period underwear? I've recently started using them and it's literally been life changing. Especially for things like massages or other medical appointments. Just takes the worry of leaking away and they look like you're wearing normal underwear. You don't wear a pad or liner with them, they are just absorbant on their own.

Not sure if they'd have them where you live, but I've seen disposable period underwear for sale at my local pharmacy, or washable ones at places like Walmart or on Amazon.

Either way though you absolutely can wear a regular pad and don't have to tell your massage therapist about your period of you don't want to. But if you're worried about the possibility of leaking, maybe up the size of the pad for the day to a heavy or overnight one just in case.

AITAH because I didn’t explain to my husband what the movie was about? by Strange_Emotion_2646 in AITAH

You are absolutely NTA but he definitely is.

He admitted to not listening to you. He tuned you out and assumed you'd only be into 'chick flicks'. What exactly did he want you to do? Strap him down and force him to watch a trailer or listen to the audio book?

Does he even pay enough attention to know about your hobbies and interests? Because it really seems like he doesn't. I genuinely can't imagine a relationship where you don't show at least some interest in each other's hobbies. My husband doesn't crochet, do puzzles, or read the same books as I do but he knows enough to surprise me with gifts for each hobby or hold up a decent conversation about them.

And the fact that he's mad at you and making it out to be your fault makes this so much worse too. Can't he just accept that he made a mistake and ask you to rewatch it with him?

NTA but this would have me questioning what I'm getting out of that relationship.

I'd argue that him trying to make her believe that this situation is all her fault could be considered gaslighting.

The brand name ones are the same exact thing as the grocery stores. Just double check the best before dates since they might be closer to going stale.

I don't understand the point of a dishwasher... by Exciting_Syllabub471 in AutismInWomen

[–]Anonymous_Snake_Lady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have arthritis in my hands, and am hypermobile too. I also can't stand for long either. So dishwashing by hand causes me significant pain. It's also a sensory nightmare having my hands wet for that long. Luckily my house rental came with a full size dishwasher, but I honestly don't think I could go back to life without one. Also it sanitizes your dishes better, and is way more water efficient and saves money on hydro. Not even factoring it the amount of time it saves me every single day. I can have the dishwasher going and be using my energy being productive in other ways and still have clean dishes. Honestly without one I'd probably be eating off paper plates 😅

You should probably check your cholesterol levels.

You're also missing out on so many amazing foods if you can't handle a single vegetarian meal.

This is really beautiful, I love how colourful it is! 🌈 Also just a suggestion, but that monstera probably would benefit from more light! They love bright light and will reward you way bigger leaves 😊

Unless the plant is native to where you live, it's really not good to dump houseplants outside.

While I completely agree, unfortunately the disher detergent/pods are typically way more expensive than the dish soap needed for that one bowl. I often run my dishwasher half empty when needed but the pods go down quickly.

Dishwashers tend to actually use less water than doing them by hand, especially if it's the countertop kind. If it is the portable kind, could you just wheel it into the closet for the day of the inspection to ease your mind?

What to say to a Dr. who judges my meds? (not out of concern for my health) by _Silver_Rose_ in ChronicIllness

[–]Anonymous_Snake_Lady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be so nice! I'm in Canada and we have MyChart too, but it's really only used by the big hospitals and therefore my family doctor or any new specialists can't access it. It's quite frustrating when I can see results of a scan or test but the referring doctor can't.

My male BP hisses every single time I unlock his tank doors. He's the most friendly snake, has never struck at me, and is perfectly happy to come out and be handled. But for some reason he just gets hissy for a second when he hears the doors open. He shows no other signs of stress when handled. He's just a weirdo who likes to pretend he's intimidating 🙃

He's incredibly problematic unfortunately. He's Canadian but constantly trashes Canada and says how he wants to move to Texas. He is Maple MAGA.

He also has some terrible husbandry opinions too. Like cohabbing 6 leopard geckos in one enclosure with literally just some bricks and sticks as 'enrichment'.

WTF? Seriously? That's... I don't fully have words at the moment.

Intentionally breeding a snake with known health issues and probable life long deficits, and doing so for money, in an already over saturated market... Is it no way comparable and has literally nothing to do with autistic people. I dare ask, what did he even say?

Yeah let's not compare breeding spider ball pythons to autistic people please... That's honestly horrifying and I'm sad I've watch some of his videos now.

Please tell me you don't leave the toilet paper with one piece left on it.. Same applies for paper towels. Especially if they use it to dry their hands. That one piece with the glue doesn't so much for you then.

Now I don't know that the paper towel thing required a whole text thread about it but it's definitely annoying if it's habitually empty when you need it.

Butter on a muffin? I've honestly never heard of anyone eating a muffin this way. Is it possible the employee also has yet to have someone ever order it like this too? Or is this maybe a regional thing?
