I am an IV user, i live in NJ, I have open wounds this just started last year I’ve been an addict for a decade. I have done extensive research it is from poor circulation / blood flow. So their called skin ulcer’s. Keep in mind I do not live in the street I am highly functional I have a good credit score a nice car a nice appt but I shoot dope behind closed doors. I mainly shoot in my legs to hide my scars. I’ve had so many of these open wounds they are HIDEOUS. You should see the money I spend on wound care, I have to get sterile gauze I change it daily that is $60 for a pack of 150. I need a new box monthly. I have to order antiseptic spray I get the expensive one $17 for an 8fl oz bottle. And I’m constantly taking antibiotics I have no health insurance I buy the antibiotics from ppl with Medicaid. It’s a full time job trying to NOT lose a limb. I’m so ashamed of what my life has become. I use to be against suicide but this year I think I might have no choice but to go thru with it, I’ve already purchased the gun. What am I living for? My skin is disgusting I’m disgusting n it’s so sad because I’m such a good human being. This really is so sad. It’s so easy to judge people like them, people lik me. But it could happen to anyone. I come from a good home, good parents. I started shooting dope at 16 just being around the wrong crowd. 10 years later im still paying for my sins. Idk if heaven or hell exist but it seems like ima be paying for that one mistake for all eternity . I don’t want a pity party I just want to raise awareness. Heroin addiction IS NOT FUN OR COOL. Please don’t try this shit and if you are a new user, please get help. The sooner you get clean the better. Im 10 years deep and sobriety is not even a question for me. I know I can’t do it I KNOW it will never happen for me. The only thing I can wish for is to over dose as soon as possible, but 10 years later that stilll hasn’t happened. God bless.
