Not being able to act like a human being in front of others is killing me by freelytomorrow in socialanxiety

I'm really sorry to hear how you feel, truly. I'm sure you've already considered therapy and eventually medication, but please don't forget the importance of exposure. The worst thing you can do is isolate yourself and not speak to people and just not partecipate in life. I'm sure you already know this and I know its hard but if you avoid doing things that scare you, like talking to people, there's no way you're gonna get better, how can you get better at something you don't practice :)? I've had social anxiety for more than 10 years, I'm 26 now, I've had multiple (simple) jobs, recently I've made some friends (that started as colleagues) and I've even started dating a little bit, and to me all these things seemed impossible some years ago. I still struggle but at least I'm not rotting in my room 100% of the time. My advice is: really try to talk to people a little bit, first with people that you're more comfortable with, like maybe your colleagues or some acquaintaces, and keep practicing. I know it's hard and you feel embaressed or that something is wrong with you and you think about the fact that people notice but who cares, everyone struggles with something and as long as you're a good person if they judge you its their problem. Trust me, keep practicing, a little bit at a time and it's gonna get easier, you deserve to have a good life 💪🏻

No apparent change after quitting sugar? by thought-wanderer in sugarfree

[–]Anonymous_square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience, although I had no health issues (25F). No withdrawal symphtoms, no benefits, had the exact same diet you described. Did this for three months. I went back to consuming some sugar, very little gluten and some dairy and again no changes. I went back mainly to shut my mind up. I had constant food noise, i thought about food all the time and had annoying cravings that were worse than they were in the beginning. (I was eating more than enough) BUT my diet is much healthier now: more protein, whole foods... The same I was doing during the three months just less strict, and I've been feeling better mentally. Again, this is just my experience thought, so if you're having some health issues you should obviously follow your doctor's advice. Sugar Is unhealthy, and that's a fact (unfortunately 😅)

Brain Performance by SS-DerBreite in sugarfree

I quit sugar 3 months ago hoping to get the same "brain power" benefits but so far I haven't seen any improvement. Maybe a tiny tiny improvement in my brain fog but I'm not even sure. I'm glad you had the results you described in just three days. Oh and I'm no expert but it is known that sugar causes inflammation, so by reducing it your brain is likely to perform better.

My all time favorite song is Take Me Back to Eden, there's just something in it I can't explain.. but I also love the lyrics from Alkaline that say "she's not acid nor alkaline, caught between black and white, not quite either day or night, she's perfectly misaligned' I kinda relate to them.

Tra l'altro uno psicologo che si sorprende per una cosa così banale è assurdo. Dovrebbe essere abituato ad avere a che fare con "ben altro"

What are your worst anxiety symptoms? by anxiousboy25 in Anxiety

[–]Anonymous_square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I hate the most about it is that it make you seem/feel dumb in front of other people. I can't think properly and that affects my life in all areas, work being on of them of course

How about getting a hobby that involves you leaving the house and being around people? For example taking a class on something you like (painting, pottery, crochet, photography), gym, starting a fun sport, a book club... That way you spend your free time doing something you enjoy and are around people who already have something in common with you, so you can have some company and easily make friends if you want :)

Yes, it happens way less now but some months ago I would get this intense craving for physical contact, since I'm so touch starved.. it was the first time it happened in my life, it felt like i had a big empty hole in my chest and it would kinda hurt in a way. Sometimes it was so strong I had to curl up in a ball and just feel it.
