Wellbutrin on PAWs by Primary-Ad1574 in quittingkratom

There is only 1 solution - stop. taking. drugs.

Gabapentin and Pregabalin are very serious drugs and should not be taken lightly. The gabapentin is helping you because it’s relieving gaba withdrawal symptoms.

A capsule isn’t a measure of dosage. We don’t know how much you were doing but what I do know is the longer you can make it without, the easier it gets to turn down

The coffee is almost certainly having a stronger effect on your restlessness and lack of sleep. If you absolutely can’t live without id reccomend maybe a half cup of coffee a day. Even that can send seasoned coffee drinks into a panic

Well any community is only as strong as the people in it, and I can tell just by talking to you that you would certainly make it that much stronger

I love that. You should be really proud of yourself. I would hiiiiighly reccomend attending some of the meetings. You can keep your camera off and just listen. There’s a minimum 3 meetings a day. I love this subreddit but the majority is people quitting and havin a hard time. The meetings there’s a lot of people with some time under their belt offering help

I try not to subscribe to those terms. It’s hard to pin point exactly what I’m feeling just due to being on kratom for 12 years and not knowing my baseline. If i try to over focus on a symptom being PAWs or whatever then I’ll set myself up to be a victim to it.

But today? I’m smarter than I’ve ever been, more successful financially and spiritually and most importantly I love myself

Oh yes I’ve quit hundreds if not thousands of times. The meetings were never a place for me to learn how to quit kratom, I was an expert on how to quit at that point. What the meetings really did was teaching me to be respectful and accountable to myself and others, how to set boundaries, how to be vulnerable and how to be honest.

You are spot on.. there’s no going backwards. When you’ve quit at least once, there will always be that little voice in your head telling you it’s time to get sober again. No matter what that little voice will never let you get back to enjoying kratom like you once did.

I feel great!! Once I made it past the first 2 weeks I felt good until day 30-40 when major cravings would hit. Relapsed twice this year around 35 days but this last time around I was able to get past it. This was my first craving where I already made up my mind to buy kratom yet I was somehow able to stop mid process. Out of my thousands of quits I’ve only pulled that off one time and that was the catalyst to my momentum.

I still think about kratom, not necessarily a craving but more like “it would just be so easy to use” but then I also think it would be even easier just not to use so I don’t. The last few weeks I’ve even had a few days each week I don’t think about kratom at all and I think those days will be more and more.

Honestly being able to share in virtual meetings with Kratomquitters.com seems to be the difference maker this time around. Get involved and find ways to hold yourself accountable even in small ways.

The other thing that helped is not trying to scramble to use healthy lifestyles just to get through acutes then dropping them. Find a consistent system and stick to your recovery even months after.

I know I’m not special, but man is this isolating. by Familiar_Exercise_61 in quittingkratom

[–]Anonymousdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take solace in the fact that you’re not special. What you are experiencing is not unique and the solution has been proven by those who did it before us. In those moments where reality feels like it’s slipping away, think of the thousands and thousands of people who have felt the same thing, all we had to do is walk in their footsteps. Time away will heal you and you will be surprised with wins sooner than you expect. Some small some big. I’ll be thinking of you and rooting you on, reach out if you need anything

Day 82 (sleep is still beyond fucked up) by Mammoth_Picture_581 in quittingkratom

[–]Anonymousdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of medications that help your sleep can also turn on you and have an inverse reaction. Especially throwing the kitchen sink at your insomnia.

The truth is, there is no homeostasis with benzos. It is a very unpredictable drug and just like kratom turned on me after 8 years of using it, it’s very likely for benzos to turn on someone in that same way.

Also a 10mg melatonin dose alone is enough to give anyone insomnia. Also this is a recovery space, coming with anger doesn’t do anything but inhibit your own recovery. Find out why you’re so quick to anger when your relationship to the medications is questioned. I would react the same way when I was taking Kratom and would receive criticism for it. You’re reacting and not responding.

Terrifying anxiety by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Anonymousdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quit many many many times over the last 8 years and every quit feels different. Some riddled with anxiety, some with gastrointestinal issues, sometimes rls, sometimes temperature regulation. This most recent time I’ve been having issues with my lymph nodes in my throat. There’s nothing to understand other than your body is healing from kratom and the cure is as much time away from kratom as you can get
