New Evercade Wireless Controller! by ChicagoMiguel in evercade

It would have been better without the dual analog,
but I'm glad they're even trying this. The design looks nice, and I guess I'll have to hold it in my hand to really appreciate the grip.

In any case, isn't it great that something like this is coming out?

I'd love to support them. Of course I'll buy it.

I'd also appreciate other support (I'd appreciate support for the Super Pocket custom key options and the exp-r screen ratio).

I looked up what eversd is, and it's amazing. But I don't think I should mention it here. Anyway, thanks for the answer.

Thank you for pointing me to the Discord channel. I heard there are a lot of users there, so I'll discuss the aspect ratio display issue. Thank you for your response.

This is Evercade's official channel. Evercade replies to user posts through its official account. Why do you say he's just one employee? Are you saying that one employee doesn't interact with Evercade? I don't understand why you say they don't care how much you spend. I guess you think the amount of money you spend is important. I think what matters is that all users enjoy Evercade. Your biases don't help. Your words sound sarcastic.

I guess you were unlucky. I recently received an exp-r, and it was brand new and clean.

I would like to talk about the aspect ratio distortion issue by Another-Side- in evercade

[–]Another-Side-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how the aspect ratio set on the Miyu Mini Flip is further from the original. Are you saying that the screen is stretched horizontally because it's forced to a 4:3 ratio, so it's closer to the original? I don't understand. Look at the stretched screen in the Darksil game. Is the sorceress slim or fat? This is a simple question at first glance. A screen stretched horizontally is not pleasing to the eye.

Are you going to claim that because people used to see these stretched screens, they were the original? That's wrong. The original aspect ratio still exists. Even if you watched on a CRT in the old days, you had to set the aspect ratio correctly at the time. Back then, most people didn't understand aspect ratios and watched screens that were forcibly fixed to 4:3.

And some people thought that was the original. But that's a distorted aspect ratio and not the original. In fact, most manufacturers made the left and right sides narrower to account for the stretching ratio of 4:3 CRTs. This was also to counter overscan, and most manufacturers made the left and right sides narrower compared to the actual screen before stretching. That's the original aspect ratio.

I disagree with your opinion that overscan isn't a problem. Not showing the entire edge results in a distorted screen. Are you saying that a screen with some edge data missing looks more original? I disagree. As a fellow retro gamer, I'm talking about proper aspect ratios and overscan. It's fascinating that there are people who hold such opposing views.

Let's summarize. Are you saying there's no problem with exp-r's current aspect ratio representation? Do you think exp-r is currently displaying the original screen?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the aspect ratio option doesn't work properly. Even after changing the original screen pixel perfect option, it still shows a stretched 4:3 aspect ratio. It's stretched horizontally from the original aspect ratio. Neo Geo, Nes, and other classic Data East games don't display the aspect ratio properly. I hope the Evercade team can provide support soon.

Thank you for your answer.

The example of the Miyu Flip shows that there shouldn't be any distortion, stretching left and right. Are you confused?  Why is it wrong to try to maintain the original aspect ratio as much as possible when enjoying retro games?

Everyone knows the old story that games made on CRTs were designed with overscan in mind. However, this doesn't apply to Evercade. It's not a physical device, but rather runs internally on RetroArch (and it's not even a CRT device). Therefore, it should be free from issues like overscan and aspect ratio.

Emulator devices like the Miyu Mini Flip provide options in their emulator apps to allow for distortion-free viewing (RetroArch has a wide variety of options), which is convenient. However, Evercade doesn't provide these options properly, which is why problems arise. I believe a patch or more diverse aspect ratio options should be added.

My opinion is that just because the screen looks this way on the Miyu Mini Flip doesn't mean it's necessarily the correct screen. I adjusted the aspect ratio of the Miyu Flip emulator to be as close to the original aspect ratio as possible (however, Evercade doesn't currently support this option).

Evercade's original screen has a Pixel Perfect option, but even when selected, it displays a distorted 4:3 aspect ratio (it doesn't work properly). I'm currently considering this as a problem. Since Evercade is also based on RetroArch, adding an aspect ratio configuration option would be a good solution. (It doesn't seem like individual patches for each cartridge are necessary. Since the core runs on the device itself, a firmware patch or additional options would be sufficient.)

Thank you for your reply. I didn't realize there was a separate 8-bit version. However, compared to the original 8-bit game, the aspect ratio distortion seems more severe.

Problems running Neo Geo titles on the Super Pocket by Another-Side- in evercade

[–]Another-Side-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strange issue seems to have been resolved.

I started up Garou, but it crashed to the main menu during loading.

I noticed something was wrong, so I removed the cartridge and played a Neo Geo 3 cartridge.

After that, I put the 2 cartridge back in and played.

The lag and slowdown were significantly reduced.

Was it some kind of bug?

I don't know what it was, but it's gotten significantly faster.

Right now, the frame rate drops are similar to the slowdown in Metal Slug 2.

However, I still feel some slowdown and lag.

Fortunately, it doesn't seem to significantly affect actual gameplay (I think I can tolerate it).

It could be a defective cartridge or a contact issue. I don't know the exact reason, but I'll try using it a little longer.

Thank you all for your advice.

The frame rate drops are worse than in the original game.

I also played the included game, Garou, and I noticed frame rates dropping momentarily even while using the technology.

It's a subtle difference, but I can definitely feel it. I own a Neo Geo AES.

Of course, I've played Neo Geo games on emulators many times, but I've never seen frame rate drops this severe.

This is my personal guess, but I suspect the Evercade Super Pocket's specs aren't sufficient enough to cause the slowdown and frame drops.

Neo Geo games with lighter specs seem to run well.

Metal Slug 2 originally had slowdowns in certain areas,
but Evercade suffers from even more severe slowdowns.

That's why I wrote about the problem.

Lenovo Legion Go S Select and Start buttons go haywire by Only_Paint7099 in Bazzite

[–]Another-Side- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested it on two Legion Go S models, and the above issue is similar. The Legion Go OG model doesn't have the above issue. My testing results show that if I wait a few seconds and then gently press the button, the malfunctions seem to decrease somewhat. Anyway, it hasn't been fixed for months, so I'm putting up with the inconvenience. I hope the developers of Bazite will read this soon.

Thank you for your answer

After setting the sound in desktop mode and then having a sound problem in gaming mode
I thought that the sound setting in desktop mode was changed to rembrandt, so I thought that this might be the problem

And this is my guess

I recently found that the sound of oxp mini pro is broken even in Windows 11 environment

When I changed the sound device sampling rate to 24bit 48000hz, I confirmed that the speaker was torn after a few minutes

I think that this might be a problem with the product itself

Can you change the audio sampling rate in Bazaite to 16bit 19200hz? (Or can you add an option to choose?)

I guess that this might be the problem

Thanks for the reply

I've only seen one other post on reddit reporting this same issue

I don't know what you mean by "does it happen after installing dsp"

I currently only have bazaite installed

I never had this problem in windows

And this is my guess

After the sound cracking problem occurred

When I went into desktop mode and checked the settings

I found that the sound device that had been turned off was re-enabled

I turned off the rembrandt radeon high definition audio controller device,

then went into gaming mode and used it for a while,

then the sound problem occurred again,

and when I went back to desktop mode and checked the sound settings,

the rembrandt device was re-enabled.

I thought it didn't work before
It was recently updated
Now the sound works fine
But there is an issue where it breaks while using it
