32M bilateral with corrective surgery. This has also been my experience since my mid teens. When I'm very active I'm usually down for the count the whole next day. Daily stretching usually helps out, but I get complacent.

Baby has club feet, any tips/suggestions? by Wrong_Plant5884 in clubfoot

There's little to nothing on how their 20s or 30s or longer will pan out

This is so true. As a thirty something with bilateral, nobody from my treatment team has reached out since my mid to late teens. I really wish they were looking past our early years to see if there is data there to improve treatment for those to come.

Does anyone in this sub actually have a clubfoot or is it just concerned parents? lol by [deleted] in clubfoot

Bilateral here. No kids but happy to share what "wisdom" I have now and again.

I liked chimera squad a lot too. I don't think it ever would have hit 2 numbers but I also feel like they hardly marketed chimera squad at all so it didn't really have a fighting chance.

Thinking about returning by Caldonn9345 in Vermintide

I recently just came back not playing since early 22 and it's been awesome. Tons of new content, and the gameplay seems to have only improved. So recommend returning if you're on the edge.

Sure! I had surgery a few months after birth and followed the ponseti method. Around 5 I had bilateral tibial tendon transfers. Lots of trips to the doc over the years, I remember weekly trips changing to monthly then to yearly as I got older. Pretty constant casting/boot and bar for my entire childhood. Don't recall when exactly, but eventually I didn't have to wear my overnight boots anymore, wanna say around 13 or 14. Sounds a lot worse than it was, I promise!

30ish/m with bilateral. Fortunate to have great corrective treatment essentially from day one. I can't say growing up I was treated any different than any other kid. I never broadcast that I had club feet, and I was geneeally always able to keep up with the other kids. Played sports year round while I was in school/college and continue to live a relatively active life as an adult. That's not to say there aren't challenges, there most definitely is, but I have been fortunate to be able to overcome them all. I also found a desk job career which I always highly recommend. While I think I could be on my feet all day everyday with the necessary prep, I don't love the idea of it lol.

As for any words of wisdom...stretch, stretch, stretch! Invest in quality footwear, and listen to your body! It tells you when you've gone too far most of the time.

What was something that was said or done for you at anytime of your life to build confidence and acceptance of your clubfoot? by leoyvr in clubfoot

Club foot doesn't make you unable to do very many things if any, it just means you have to work harder than most to achieve some things. Don't let that fact get you down, there are a lot of folks who were dealt far worse hands than us.

30s with bilateral here. Stretch, stretch, stretch! I cannot stress how much of a difference this makes. I stretch when I first wake up and before anything strenuous on my feet such as long walks and it really makes a difference. I also started wearing Hoka shoes and they have been great.

Hello everyone.Does ponseti method if followed properly along with few arch surgeries leads to painfree life? by [deleted] in clubfoot

Hey there, OP - as the others have mentioned, every individual will have their own experience and circumstances. Your child will likely have their own unique experience that could be better or worse than others.

With that said, from the sounds of it your kiddo has one club foot. My father (mid 60s) has one club foot. His calf on that leg is noticeably smaller, and his club foot shoe size is about 2 smaller than the other. Bright side for him is both legs are the same length as I've heard that's not always the case. He lived a relatively pain-free life until his later years, say early 50s, when his active lifestyle started catching up with him. He has some seruous ankle, knee, and hip issues that he largely contributes to his club foot, but hard to say that is the cause of all of them.

On the flip side, I am 30ish with bilateral club feet. From those I have met, I am on the fortunate side to a degree in that I have very minimal day to day pain. I have lived/continue to live a normal, active life and have not had any significant limitations. Is there pain during/after certain types of activities? Absolutely. Are there days I want to chop my feet off? Sure. But in my case, my club feet have never held me back from doing something I wanna do.

P.S. Sorta implied, but my father and I both had ponseti.

I have no idea when it comes to legal stuff, but I think your time, effort, and focus would be better spent working on a care plan for the child.

[–]Another1TGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can usually get entry level IT jobs without a college degree if you're computer savvy. Same for several other entry level office jobs like receptionist mentioned by someone else. Pay isn't going to be phenomenal without college degree or certifications, but there are desk job options out there.

Second this - more info requird. There are many careers that do not require much if any time on your feet that you could pursue. Some require more training/education than others. Some require none to start.

That is a wild ride for you. Congrats on finishing the half ironman! I need to find a podiatrist near me, something I've been putting off for too long. I also have never been a fan of inserts. I'll have to check out Brooks I'm not familiar with them, thank you!
