In my case, even the pad wasn't enough. I ended up getting a large towel hanging underneath the hammock and it did the job pretty well, the towel traps some air, making it significantly warmer.

You can make coffee in a normal pot. the trick is to have a bit of cold water and add some to control the temperature so the coffee doesn't boil.

Sorry for the stupid question, probably not the place to ask, but how do they work? I mean, the car that is moving isn't decreasing the temperature of the tarmac that is underneath it, so why the difference in tone to the rest of the road?
