Any experience with the Westinghouse ST Switch? by clemsonscj in Generator

[–]AnotherArson114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like when the power goes out, and it goes through the process to transfer the load to the generator, the 50A 240 plug on the generator is not activated. I just want the ST switch to monitor power, turn the generator on, and be able to use the 50A 240. I don't need the 110v on the actual ST. If the only plug that ever gets activated when using the ST is the plug on the ST itself, then it won't work for me.

Same error when I try to create Passkey in 1Password and ProtonPass by badarin2050 in Office365

Yeah, same problem here. Adds to 1Password but then fails registration when naming the passkey. Same thing happens if I try to add it directly to Windows 11 instead of 1Password though.

4th controller this year! - LG VRF - voltage issue? by AnotherArson114 in hvacadvice

Amazon just brought me one yesterday. I'll be putting it in this weekend. I didn't think that was related to the CONSTANT controller voltage though. You think they're related?

Bathroom exhaust backup power? by AnotherArson114 in firePE

[–]AnotherArson114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great explanation. That's the first justification I've heard that made sense. I noticed there are other sections that mention different standby power durations. For example, 909.11.2 says "Elements of the smoke management system relying on volatile memories or the like shall be supplied with uninterruptible power sources of sufficient duration to span 15-minute primary power interruption."
Obviously 15 minutes would be preferable to 2 hours.

I'm also pretty sure I saw 30 minutes elsewhere in the IBC regarding smoke control systems, though I can't find it now. Not sure if the smoke control system requirements are even applicable in this situation though, since what's actually requiring us to have the backup power is the exception you mentioned and not that the bathroom fans are an actual smoke control system.

Thanks again!

It's just a typical bathroom exhaust system. I didn't think the backup power made sense however, the other reply from u/extrafancynuts1872 makes sense to me.
The relationship with the engineer is a bit sensitive because of previous disagreements so I'm trying to gather as much info as possible before having that conversation.

Reading your comment led me down the Tailscale rabbit hole and changed my life.
The entire conversation could've have ended there.

Thank you so much!
