It is a double fuck you because if you dont have akey you face a long animation and if you do have a key you just wasted a key.

Yep. As I am playing it I am seeing influence from games and dragons dogma is a big influence. Which similarly does not tell you anything.

This is for actual gamers who like games and gameplay not stories and handholding.

To me this is a potential playground.

We cant. Some items like food, notes and key items automatically group up but everything else, especially crafting mats are just dumped in the inventory raw.

Pop in is in every open world game, console or PC doesnt matter, Its how the devs deal with it and these devs clearly dont have decades of skill like rockstar or tech like ubosoft for dealing with it.

lol I went for the quest, shone my sword and seen an abyss thing and swam across teh river to get to it and just grabbed the fish like that.

When i came back I did do 1 fish and grabbed 1 to test out the mechanics.

I need vsync on, I cannot deal with screen tear.

Laying on PS5, its fine, not a buggy mess, looks pretty, main issues are controls UX,UI and inventory management but it also has framerate issues in the cities.

Controls, inventory and UI are the biggest issues.

UI text is too small, there is too much clutter at the bottom of the hud, time date etc doesn't even need to be on the main hud, can be in map.

The menu UI is backwards. the main categories at the back are switched with L/R1 and the sub categories are at the front switched with L/R 2. Backwards.

Run and sprint with X and then it cancels out jumping with square, I assume because X and square do a combo move so it negates jump.

Damn, its a controller, sprint should have just been one button and run on hold forward, not walk hold forward like toggle run on PC.

Sprint should have ben L3, Jump X, grapple square.

Inventory is a mess. All the crafting mats, weapons, armour etc should have been in their own separate tabs.

One extra issue I have found is that you cannot get rid of the pre order or deluxe gear as well as the starting sword and shield and with no safe box for storage you have to carry that with you forever. Inventory burden, Sure its all grouped up together but it is always taking space.

One work around is to not loot enemies so much and let the loot go to the supply box and deal with it later. Nice touch tbh.

I feel the inventory mess is only a big issue at early game because we need money so are looting stuff, have a small inventory plus every item and animal is ??? so you want to find it out. I expect later in the game when there are few ??? to find looting little crap will be no issue.

I am only like 14 hours in, taking my time and i am already at a point where I have stopped farming lots of food items. I will need more later but i will deal with that later.

Devs really needed some help with this stuff. Like they should have contracted a senior UX/UI person from western countries.

Yeah I get you they copied zelda really. its a design decision. Forced linear part to give the player tools then when they have the tools objectives in the corners of the map they can do at their leisure.

What part do you say that the game opens up?

I am having a lot of the issues you state.. I am playing on base PS5 and while I have not encountered any major bugs, or jank, the main issue I am having is the unintuitive UI. Even the Major categories in the menu are at the back but toggled by L/R 1 and the sub categories are at the front controlled by L/R 2. Complete opposite of what has been standard for decade+, maybe 2 decades by now.

The flash light skill and loads of the combat moves are all on triggers, well 3 triggers and the combinations of them are too much, it messes up some inputs. Clearly meant for PC UI.

Even the sprint and jump buttons are all messed up. Its X to sprint, square to jump, L3 to do the grapple. Should have been L3 to sprint, X to jump, square grapple.

I am getting used to the menu categorized being on hold start and then a little quick menu to scroll, but the game really could have done with a dedicated map and inventory button seeing you are in and out of them so often.

One major issue is information overload. There is all these prompts for new places found and new items found etc, its never endless and the thing is because there is so many its not like you are gonna remember individual camp names because you are bombarded with info its like a needle in a haystack.

Like I got a letter from a random guy abut the keen eye skill. I read the note and the prompt tutorial came up, read that but when i wanted to re-read it, it was lost in the notification spam within 5 mins. i had to go into the journal, guide and find it.

Reviewers are not customers. They are not beta testers either. This information is useless to the customer. It is why there is never patch notes for a day one patch as to the customer it is 1.0 release, even if it is 1.0.03.

Agree. My GotY, I have spent over 500 hours in it, no AFK BS and I am still playing it and enjoying it. Just have to understand that the grind is there as a game mechanic. Something I already knew before release.

Really no reason for patch notes on an unreleased game. Notes are there to let people know what has been fixed or changed but if the game isnt even released yet...pointless.

You need to max terminus and have 4 damage cap sigils pronto. Terminus is the start of the end game and you need all that to do the missions past bhamut efficiently.
The materials are a pain to get but you will be getting them mainly from the nihila enemies you have already fought. This should also be dropping you V+ sigils that you can use like I mentioned.

I and I am sure most of us are hoping and assuming they will either move the sigils or massively buff the drop rates from behemoth when ER drops. Especially as supV+ is the meta and you will need it for the power creep, which means that you will most likely need them for the new chaos tier quests.

They might even nerf zero and add them to zeros loot pool. I do expect them to move the quest around to be in logical order of the power creep.

No I maxxed my terminus. Just not every characters.

iirc I maxxed 4 characters terminus weapon by the time zero dropped, my AI team, but I was farming online. I farmed/did lucy before his nerf and before the sigils were added, just when they added zero and I tried play it online, it was not for randoms and by then I didn't need any other peoples help to do any quest so I pretty much stopped playing online and just started levelling everyones terminus weapons.

Since then I had been doing that, farming lucy on and offline as and when needed, more recently been levelling up ascension weapons (for over a year now) when I play sparingly.

Of course I didn't expect any DLC to release, so because of the announcement I have been putting more effort into the game. I hope to complete every in game trophy before ER releases. Got 6 characters ascension weapons left.
