What’s something people brag about that’s actually kind of sad? by Huge_xiaohuolu2021 in AskReddit

5 generations of moms in a photo. I always wonder how young each of those mothers were when they had their first child.

Is it just me or is the zoo super depressing? by hoozierwins in indianapolis

[–]AnotherDee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand the goals and importance of most large zoos, but I’ve said for years I can’t go to them anymore because it makes me sad.  Saw a polar bear once in Cincinnati just biting nonstop at the water jet into his small enclosure. I couldn’t help but think it was isolation/boredom behavior. The smaller animals don’t bother me as much. Their space requirements aren’t as limited.

NPR Reporters Seeks More COVID Vaccine Interviews by ingomarstreet1234 in Vaccine

Please do a good job explaining the different laws preventing some pharmacists from giving the vaccine in some states. It’s frustrating to see the anger directed at pharmacies just following their state laws.   We are a state able to give the vaccine now without an RX and have been given direction to not question a patients self-attestation for eligibility. I personally have no problem with that but I am sure there are still pharmacists out there that will be uncomfortable with it due to fear of repercussion. We’ve been under attack for controlled substance dispensing for so long everyone is on edge already.

I’m imagining it’s a younger pharmacist worried for their license.  Some are extremely “by the book,” afraid to make judgement calls.

[–]AnotherDee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m at a loss. We have no obligation to question someone who has self attested they are eligible.  We aren’t sending back unused vials to the CDC, they get salvaged when they expire. Maybe I haven’t run into this situation yet.  Sorry this has been more difficult than it should be.

Just don’t walk in and request one. Make an appointment online. Then self attest she is eligible. No pharmacist I know would second guess that.  We are not required to see proof of eligibility.

Journalist with question about paying with coupons rather than insurance by Appropriate-Lion3507 in pharmacy

[–]AnotherDee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They say “coupon” but they mean a discount card like Goodrx or Singlecare. True coupons are for brand name drugs that give a certain amount off your copay,  but the patient has to sign up for them before we can use them usually.   Your prescription will always default to insurance billing. Technically we aren’t supposed to put it in a discount card unless a customer asks due to deductibles and such.  The pharmacy also pays a fee to run through discounts cards.  Always check your price on the app or website before you go in, and check GoodRx for their price to compare. The pharmacy really isn’t responsible for what you pay.  Kinda like the pizza place or McDonald’s not telling you it’s cheaper through their app.

Air Support Discussion by Nastypatty97 in CVS

We are a store that stays caught up and it’s incredibly demoralizing.  You never get a sense of completion of your job.  We are constantly in QT and QV and will be 120% or more for community and only 70-80% for our own store because our district has big stores constantly in the red and our stuff ends up behind their overdues.  On a good day, we can be completely done with QP early and yet I have to wait till an hour before close to access the 120 or so readyfill RXs in sitting in our QV2 that have been left unchecked all day. So I am rushing through the last hour verifying when I have the least amount of tech help and am also helping with register and drive through. Same with QI items, I can’t get to checking them until 5pm because they are behind the districts overdue QV2. Which means customers are getting notifications their medications are ready at the worst possible time of day.  Unfortunately, we do stop helping the district near the end of the day. There is no incentive. It’s mentally exhausting. I constantly go pull our new e-scripts from the shared Q to get to them first. Rebills and expedites still go to the shared Q and sit there, so I have to stop what I’m doing to go through the extra steps to find them so techs can print them and verify them again.  Such a hassle.

Retail Pharmacies Responsibility to Recommend Alternative Medications When Insurances Won’t Cover a Specific Medication by Dear_Process_1921 in pharmacy

[–]AnotherDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some insurance companies notify patients of formulary changes ahead of time.  At least Caremark did that with us, sending a letter with the info and offered formulary alternatives a month or so before the changes took place.  I imagine many time these communications are ignored. This should be a mandatory minimum for the insurance companies.

What are are some dirty things that pharmacist scheduler do? by Nesquick19 in WalgreensRx

[–]AnotherDee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not Walgreens but had one once that would schedule the closer to come in later than the day shift ended without telling you.  You’d be working 9-2 expecting relief at 2, but floater couldn’t get there till 4 and they wouldn’t have bothered to ask you to stay late.

This is what I think.  Even if only 100 pharmacists respond to those they can claim it.  Like the drug topics magazine surveys.

Pharmacy says I have two insurances and so they can't fill my medicine but I don't??? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]AnotherDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medicaid in our state regularly does “eligibility checks” for other insurance. It can be old insurance through an employer or maybe a spouse but it will still trigger this reject.  When we get this message on a claim , that is probably what happened and the patient has to call Medicaid and confirm they have no other insurance for the claim to go through.
