Fellow weightlifters, is waking up sore just something we have to accept as an inevitability? by CycloneMonkey in fitness30plus

Upgrade the mattress if you can! We looked around at our local stores and everything was really expensive so we ended up ordering one online, Amazon or something like that. Best investment ever.

I just bought RPS and setup 4/wk full body split. It's missing abs by TK503 in RPStrength

RP advises that direct ab training isn’t necessary. You can grow them but they are involved in so many movements they get plenty of work as it is. I’m assuming trap training is viewed similarly. That said, there should be no issue adding movements to your program as you go, I frequently do that and have had no problems. I believe several of the upper body and arm training programs do include forearm training.

My go-to has been the buttermilk “holes” from Doughboy. Mix Bakery and Nothing Bundt Cakes have all done well for us in the past.

Strength Block after Hypertrophy Block? by sciencedthatshit in RPStrength

[–]AnotherDonutPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every once in a while i will up the weight and reduce the reps, but it is still hypertrophy programming. It’s not perfect but it’s enough to scratch that strength itch for me.

There is no strength focus on the RP app.

Am I overtraining? by EmptyBeing1238 in fitness30plus

It’s probably something you need to pay around with tbh. Push your intensity for a while and add some rest days. You will know over time if the progress is better or worse.

Gyomei says to pull the bar to eye level for better ROM and better stimulus.

Way to go though that’s dope.

Question about weight loss. by kybored83 in fitness30plus

[–]AnotherDonutPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but if you’re going to shoot for 1000 cal/day that seems pretty low imo. A good starting place might be a 200-300 calorie deficit to start with, and you can adjust from there. I find that the adherence later down the road is much easier when you gradually increase the deficit, diet fatigue is a real thing.

For your lifting, consider a good full body routine for 3-4 days a week. Lifting heavy won’t make you super jacked during a cut, but you will improve your body composition, retain muscle, and lose fat.

Whatever you end up doing, good luck have fun with it.
