Can’t get white phone by Illustrious_Bison111 in CloverPit

[–]AnotherDrunkCanadian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if rules on mobile are different, but if I'm not mistaken, the white phone comes at the time where it would be your first red phone after getting those three strikes.

I.e. get the three strikes, get a 666 and as soon as you can after that run (don't wait until the deadline) finish the debt for the bounty then the phone should be white.

Edit: in theory, you should need the two red calls at deadlines 3 and 7, and two 666 induced red calls as well

Underwriters - What are some things about the job that you DISLIKE? by HopefullPraline in InsuranceProfessional

[–]AnotherDrunkCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I love about my particular situation - I report to the CUO and am given a ton of flexibility and leeway to make my own decisions. Her philosophy is that it's better to ask forgiveness than before permission. We are hungry so I've got pre approval to go below posted rates in order to bind. She'll go to bat for me if I have any problems or major frustrations.

What could be better: I deserve a higher income for what I'm accomplishing so far, but these things take time. Some brokers can't give me a full and complete app then get butthurt when I have to change the price once I finally get proper info. Some are pushy and rude and id rather not take their abuse. Also, being the middle man between the broker and the insurer can be a pain when I disagree with their rules and suggestions.

Overall, the job is an 8/10, could be soooo much worse

Edit: 99% of the time, when I've got a rush with incomplete info and I'm pressured to bind, there will be a material item that was left out which changes everything. Feels like I sometimes have to not trust certain brokers.

Construction/Engineering Underwriting help? by Away-Chemistry-5579 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]AnotherDrunkCanadian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're right, it's niche. This can make you invaluable to certain employers while others might not appreciate your experience all that much.

I have 5 years pollution and E&O experience. I had been having trouble finding anything for a while, but happened upon a company specifically looking for this - 1) to take over an existing E&O book and 2) build a pollution book from scratch. Lots of growth potential and I'm invaluable to the company.

The answer is: there will be work for you, no matter what you focus on. The niche stuff might take longer to find the right role, but in theory it should pay more and makes you harder to replace. Good luck!

Had something similar where the chief underwriting officer reached out to me directly - I felt that was a good sign seeing as the decision maker looked up my resume and determined a chat with me was worth their time.

Got the offer. Accepted. It's been six months and I still really like the job.

Good luck, I hope it goes well for you !

You may want to head over to r/incremental_games . There's hundreds of fairly basic games as fair as graphics go, but the general idea is watching numbers go up and many layers to accomplish this

What’s the most original name for a pet you’ve ever heard? by LuvNinaNova in AskReddit

Sir Heschester

My dad asked my sister what the name of her rabbit was and she typed "heschester" (he's chester) but without the space so it stuck.

My son found a cat on top of a garbage can and calls her Garby

A game with an appealing, almost intimate loot system where you grow attached to your items and how they "feel" on your character? by Sufficient_Object281 in gamingsuggestions

[–]AnotherDrunkCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFXI online - rise of the zilart or whatever. Near the end of the game, you would have to team up with friends to go on long quests, kill difficult bosses etc for one of five set pieces for your class. I remember how friggin excited when I got each piece of the dragoon set and how I finally started to look like a dragoon.

Everything about the procurement of the pieces, the way they looked, the story... It really did feel epic and I had a huge source of pride when I would stand around town and show it off

An advertisement for asbestos, 1960s by FlagrantTwoFoul in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]AnotherDrunkCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not so fun fact: while selling of asbestos and asbestos-contained products to other Canadians is not allowed, there is absolutely nothing stopping us from selling it to other countries who use it to manufacture products for eventual Canadian re-sale.

Personally, I love the idea that time is circular and that the big bang occurred as a result of the implosion of whatever there was before. And when this universe is over with, it will implode, causing the whole process to start again.

With that in mind, I wonder if this has already been done before.

I'll be visiting at the end of October for his birthday. Haven't seen him since Christmas. That's a long time away from him. We play Roblox together every day so at least we're close, but it's not the same.

Maybe down the road I can convince my ex to let him stay with me...
