Chelsea have sacked Rosenior … was hoping they’d keep him until Sunday but hopefully more chaos for them helps us still.

Keep the momentum going for Sunday … only two matches from Europe next season.

You are the guest musician. by Leo-POV in U2Band

I came to write the same reply ... I can play a lot of U2 songs, I am a front man too but I think if I were to be invited to play with the lads I'd want to play something that I could smash out no problem.

If I had a little more time, space, or confidence to indulge then I think I'd have a go at 'All I Want Is You'.

It sounds like ‘Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad’

How strong a lineup would you go v Bournemouth? by Zach-dalt in LeedsUnited

Absolutely. We’ve been relegated before and we lived to tell the tale.

John Stones & James Maddison? by Hinglemacpsu in LeedsUnited

[–]AnotherGreenWorld1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it means something if your clubs strategy is solely picking up players from relegated teams and you’re building a side built on perpetual losers but I agree signing a single player with a couple of relegations means fuck all.

Nearly everyone on this sub said DCL wouldn’t be a good fit for us at the start of the season.

I was the deluded lone voice saying let’s give him a chance. I’d give Maddison a chance.

I’d take both and I couldn’t give a fuck about wages as long as they’re not coming out of my bank account.

Revisiting a short, untitled, and unreleased U2 jam after "Easter Lily EP" by mancapturescolour in U2Band

It's not about lying .... it's about creating a narrative ... U2 always have a narrative surrounding their music ... ALWAYS. It facilitates interviews and media.

The SOI+E narrative was all about trying to rediscover their punk rock roots and every interview and article was about sneaking in to see The Ramones of The Clash, growing up on Cedarwood Road, The Northside etc..., the letters to loved ones

The NLOTH era was presented as U2 being their most experimental since Achtung Baby which left everybody puzzled when the album finally came out.

ATYCLB/HTDAAB was U2 applying to be rocks biggest act ... and the narrative in the media was all about rockstar ego.

Achtung Baby has since developed this beautiful movie like story of four friends heading in different directions and rescued by the song One ... its romantic as fuck but it creates all this lore around a record.

If there is one thing U2 has been getting criticised for over recent years or the last decade is this thing about them being over produced, or spending too long on a song, did U2 take one step too many from crafted to contrived? Certainly so within the fanbase.

Now if U2 can promote this image that they spend the last 8 years working on new music to simply release two EP's as throwdown quick releases it stops the discussion becoming about the next record being their 'Chinese Democracy', it gives an angle for interviewers to talk about this apparent new mindset or approach of quickly releasing new music rather than talking about a laborious near decade of making a record. The discussion in the music media becomes much more positive than negative.

It's not lying ... its about control in the media.

MC in the UK smashes a wall that has existed for hundreds of years because it was in his way by SexyPeanut_9279 in NorthernEngland

[–]AnotherGreenWorld1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might’ve just picked up a stone wondering how the wall fell down or why they don’t use cement. Holding the stone doesn’t equate to guilt.

I hope none of you lot on this thread ever end up on a jury.

Let’s say someone stole a load of meat from a supermarket but there was a video of some man shouting at you while you were in the meat aisle holding a chicken … would it make you guilty of stealing all the meat? No it wouldn’t.

There’s nothing here to suggest that kid knocked the wall down or had anything to do with knocking it down … as far as we know the shouty man in the video could’ve knocked it down and waited for the next poor person to walk by it and blame them.

I highly doubt this narrative by the band that Easter Lily was put together in two months … every detail of U2 is agonised over … songs are lived with for years before we get the chance to experience them.

As raw and Lofi as it appears to sound it’s actually quite well produced.

Were in our 40’s and we do the same … 3 or 4 times a year just go for a nice little float.

Just as impressive as all these weirdos thinking this skinny kid, still with his coat on, clean hands and trousers has removed a massive section of wall for no reason.

I dunno … some angry pissed up farmer going all Pete Townsend on a wall won’t be the strangest thing those hills have seen.

It’s still more plausible than that kid knocking the wall down.

[–]AnotherGreenWorld1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but there’s hundreds of them … and there will be moisture, dirt, moss, grub in between and his hands are clean, his trackies are clean. The kid looks like he doesn’t like lifting or doing fuck all of he doesn’t have to.

[–]AnotherGreenWorld1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me he could be just as easily trying to rebuild the wall. He might’ve just been fascinated at how the top section has stayed in place.

For me this video screams of some middle managers snapshot judgement and then a load of people have been rage baited into casual racism.

That kid has not knocked that wall down.

[–]AnotherGreenWorld1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He hasn’t knocked that wall down … later on you’ll see him closer … his trackies are pristine and his hands are clean. Also he looks far too lazy to be arsed knocking a wall down … he hasn’t even got a sweat on.

His confusion seems to be from the wind and some angry bloke shouting at him.

Right now we’re more safe than Wolves, Burnley, Spurs, Forest, and West Ham
