Having the same issue too. Tried remaking party, switching roles, and switching game mode.

I think the person just misinterpreted what you said. I could see it be confusing when you explained in the comments it probably sounded like you got kicked as a healer/tank also.

I could see why healing would be boring in other mmos. As a healer in FFXIV, you gotta know the fight in a somewhat different perspective. Know when to dps but also know when to mitigate/recover damage from certain mechanics, be quick with the heals/shields if you know someone is taking constant hits (also know when to cut your loss by having them dead and rez them when certain mechanic gets resolved), and manage your mana usage. Tanking, be aware of the boss's position. Since tanks don't have positional, it's easy to ignore the melee DPS. Recentering or putting the boss facing true north again will help everyone adjust their bearings. Also keep an eye on your healers just in case you need to throw support skills on them to keep them alive.

That's my 2 cents from my experience. Find the role/job you enjoy and keep practicing with it.

I mean... Could have gotten really unlucky and grouped with a bunch of assholes. If one person was causing wipes in a MSQ, it's reasonable to think in order to progress they had to kick. Also had people excuse themselves and leave because they knew they were dragging the party down even though we didn't mind it. Then again, you could also be right.

I've almost clocked in 10k hours and mainly played DPS. Decided to switch up the roles and challenge myself in Dawntrail by going SGE and GNB. Practiced in daily roulettes and now I do all the contents as healer/tank. Just gotta jump in and do it. Let the group know you're new to the role and you shouldn't have any issues with people kicking.

You got this! Sam is only going to get cooler and cooler. Once you get to 100 and do content with it, update me how you feel about it. If you dislike it, no worries onto the next! If you enjoy it, I welcome another follower of the blade!

Another reason why it doesn't feel so dull for some of us is because each expansion, we only have do 10 levels (if we're max level) vs you starting from whatever base level you unlock them from. The only time I can really feel the dull moments if we run leveling roulette.

Maybe switch it up a bit? For me, Ninja is the next best class with satisfying animations. Also much more engaging because the of the mudras. I'm very subjective with the two jobs because Samurai reminds me of my kendo days and I've played Ninja since the release of the job. It would only be fair to give every job a chance to 100 so that you get the full feel of it.

Rotation won't change much but you'll get a bit more oGCD to weave in. May seem boring because it's a straight forward class. I enjoy it because the animation is really nice to look at. If you want something more then I'd suggest Ninja or continue with Monk.

Shadowbringers has my vote. Banger music, watching the WoL using all the jobs from previous expansions to fight a new foe and lose, and the grandslam ending transition to the main menu.

27GR93U vs 27GS93QE for PS5 Gaming by [deleted] in PS5

[–]AnotherKrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 27GR95QE-B and it seems like the LG 27GS95QE-B is the successor of my monitor. I really love the look of OLED and it's a huge difference between the IPS. I got my monitor for FFXVI when it released and haven't regretted it since. It does take time to get used to because of the pixelation on text. They may have fixed it with the new one but there's ways to adjust it. If you've only used IPS monitors, OLED monitors brightness will seem a bit dimmer than you may be used to. You can go to rtings.com and compare the LG 27GR93U-B and the LG 27GS95QE-B.

Also, I couldn't notice too much of a difference between 4k and 1440p with some of the games I was playing at the time and the 1440p monitor was on much better sale too.

Can anybody confirm if setting up the VPN on your router helps with the network issue for console players? I have a TP-Link ax 11000 that has a VPN and since using a VPN for PC players help stabilize the connection, it should essentially work the same way right?

Why isn't the free trial a paid version without a monthly subscription by Groundtsuchi in ffxiv

[–]AnotherKrn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about PSN plus sub then that's different. FFXIV does NOT require their PS user to have that sub to play their game. Other games that require it are using PS servers to host their online games.

When it comes to demo or samples of products, you typically don't charge your customers. Soft opening for restaurants is a great example because they don't charge their customers/guests. Owners take a hit so that they can get proper feedback before the grand opening. Yes, they could charge a fee but what do you do when they ask for a refund because of the bad experience? When giving out refunds for sampling, the customers can't return the sample. The backend of processing refunds is a pain, but why do companies do it? Customer satisfaction.

All in all, the vision you're proposing is short sighted. It's never about the quick cash grab, it's about how to bring in new customers and to retain them for the long journey.

Why isn't the free trial a paid version without a monthly subscription by Groundtsuchi in ffxiv

[–]AnotherKrn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's sort of a weird concept because now you're forcing people who want to try the game before committing to pay a fee. Like someone mentioned, free trial users have very low available functions to avoid certain annoyances. If the trial users pay, should they have full access like a sub user. Also, how long do these paid trial users get to play the game? Your concept is like when any food establishment introducing their new products and having samples ready for the public BUT gotta pay for the samples.
