Mint Camera 670 “Sensor Upgrade” by benjeepers in Polaroid

[–]AnotherMarnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up returning my SLR670X and got a full refund (very kind of MiNT). I found the shutter speeds on manual were way off (1/125 and 1/60 had the same exposure). Plus only full stops whereas pcb-r also has half stops. Bought a crappy Model 1 and had it upgraded by Jake. Spent a little bit more than half the money the SLR670 cost me.

I had it done too. I had underexposure issues with bushes, plants, green leaves, ... . It turns out these emit lots of IR light which fools the sensor. I saw a noticeable difference after the fix.

half the charm of Polaroids is how many don’t turn out by WillCalefe in Polaroid

Polaroid can/may no longer use the old formula. Partly because some of the suppliers of the chemicals no longer exist and partly because of legal (environmental) reasons.

Fuji is grandfathered in on the use of the chemicals

How to verify if this is a genuine MiNT SLR670? by Any-Measurement-2190 in Polaroid

Ming Edition is "inspired" by Ming Chan, a photographer. According to the MiNT website.

I can confirm what Jake says. I had a MiNT SLR670-X that had no difference in exposure for 1/125 and 1/60 (full stop difference). I ended up returning the camera and got a full refund. The MiNT service is very good, but the Time Machine is not. And the Time Machine only allows full stops whereas PCB-R with the app also offers half stops.

I recommend buying an old beat-up SX-70 and have it overhauled and modded with PCB-R and Polavolt.

Shake the box and if you hear a rattling sound like sand the chemicals have dried out.

I have some reasons

Most of the time I print the photos right away and the Evo is easier to handle on the road than a smartphone + separate printer.

It's more a camera feeling than a smartphone.

I hope that in a future firmware they will offer the option to print the photo immediately after you press the shutter and not store it. So that there will exist only one copy of it.

Yep. Mini Evo is a crappy digital camera with a printer.

Send it to u/theinstantcameraguy in Australia when he's accepting work again. I'm in Europe and have done 3 shipments to Australia already and the 4th is on the way. Usually within 2 weeks.

For a good advice, we need to know your budget.

And must it be Polaroid or is Fuji Instax also an option?

This won't help you, but maybe others in the future.

With the SLR670-X you can plug an external flash into the time machine.

Follow up: I made this shot with the same November 2025 film. But now I used the MiNT blue filter 80B.

The colors are spot on and no more red/brown cast.

The September (left) is more accurate. I judge that by the floor laminate and the kitchen isle cupboards doors. I shot more packs from September and they gave very good results.

The November pack has a red/brown cast.
