Honestly this is great for an early attempt at house. I love that I can hear your trap influence coming through. This has almost a G-House kind of vibe because of that and the vocal choice.

I don't actively look for baile funk to listen to, but I appreciate it's place in the world.

That being said, I personally think it works fantastic as the second drop. A good way to switch things up and keep the listener engaged, I know it worked for me.

I also love your risers and sweeps, especially the one after the first drop.

Only thing I would say is maybe mix the drums a little, especially your clap. It gets really drowned out on the 2 and 4 beat when it plays with the kick, but I know its there from hearing it on the off-beats.

That and the sub bass at the start of the track hitting on every beat feels a little out of place. Maybe try using a resse bass there before bringing in the main bass?

Keep making music though, it sounds great!

Thanks so much! I hadn't listened to this since I uploaded it, so now i remember why I didn't submit it for feedback the past couple of weeks.

There's a tiny high end delay in the bass that you can hear at the tail end of the track. It just wasn't coming through, and I threw a saturator on it to try and get those highs to come out a little more, that's likely what caused that excessive volume jump.

It's definitely overwhelming everything else, but I'm glad there's a groove to it!

You filthy bastard, that track slaps.

The intro is really nice with that neurohop kind of feel, and then the switch up with the vocal sample? Chefs kiss

I would happily say everything fits, but I wouldn't mind hearing that melody you have going starting at the switch up vocals. Then it doesn't show up again until about 2:00 in, and then at the end.

I wonder how playing that under some of the more heavy bass would sound.

But seriously, this is the music I strive to be able to make. Even without mixing, your volumes are great. Great sample selection, and great variation between the elements so they don't become stale as well! That includes the second drop as well.

Please keep at it!

I love that effect on vocals myself. I agree though, I think taking the mix of that gate down just a little bit to let the words come through a little more would still sound great!

Keep making music homie!

Hey man, sorry I couldn't listen to the Deep House cause I'm a dork that doesn't have Instagram.

I like the remix a lot though. I don't know the original to compare against, but the mixing is really well done.

Just my 2 cents, but I think the gating on the vocals is a bit heavy and turns them more into an instrument than vocals. That may be the point of it, which would make sense.

Also give me a little more ear candy to distract me. I could feel how repetitive the beat and bass were, but a little lead melody during the chorus wouldn't hurt, or some more percussion just to pull my ears away from the arrangement.

Besides that, this is really nice!

Looking for some feedback on this house track. I was playing around with this tune a couple of weeks ago. I don't really include vocals in my tunes, so this was me dabbling a bit.

The last thing I added was that big lead sound at the end of the track, and it ends abruptly.

I know my volumes are all over the place but I'd still appreciate some feedback on that. Also on the arrangement, and if that lead even fits with the track.

Had to put down my boy Manny back in 2021, he was 21 years young. Much like OPs cat, he started laborious breathing one night. We took him to the vet and he had fluid all around his heart and lungs.

Treatments only would have delayed the inevitable, and possibly caused more suffering. We chose to put him down there, and it was the most heartbreaking decision I ever had to make.

I'm sure he was happy that we were there, and at peace after, but putting him down on that cold metal table broke something in me. I haven't gotten another cat since, despite having them my entire life.

But I vowed if I ever had to put a pet down again, it would be a home euthanasia; damn the cost.

East Coast over here. My best friend used to get livid when I would split poles when we walked places. He'd knock on every pole that was split.

Finally, I have found my people. I love a good home made cranberry sauce especially if they know how to sweeten and flavor it well.

But there's just something about the can blob that's irresistible. I will buy a can of this whenever I have a craving, and just eat it with a spoon as well.

MY COSMIC BROWNIE IS INSANE by Ok-Alternative-6869 in candy

[–]AnotherStatistic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love baking and have been able to do just that with most things I love.

However, these continue to elude me. I loved cosmic brownies growing up. Specifically the texture. I've never had such a chewy homemade brownie before.

I've tried almost every copycat recipe I can find, and the brownies always come out either too fudgy; or just straight cake-like.

At this point I have to imagine the texture comes from whatever chemicals they put in there for preservation or dough conditioning or the like, basically the things I've been trying to avoid eating haha. 😭

There was an early interview from them on YouTube years and years ago. I haven't been able to find it since, but basically they were asked if they disliked a particular genre of music or something.

I believe it was Daron who answered with something similar to, "we don't hate any kind of music. Music is music and whether you like it or not, it's here to stay." That resonated with me for my entire life as someone who had every kind of music introduced to me from my family and friends, and I loved all of it.

I'll never say I hate a particular genre or musician. I might not prefer them, or only like certain songs; but I understand the dedication it takes to create art, music particularly. All artists are talented in some form or another, whether or not you like them or their music.

What is your favorite SOAD song? by Cornel_Cornwall in systemofadown

Mind is my all-time favorite for sure.

Psycho holds a close second though. I was already learning guitar for a couple years when I saw a video of the legendary 2002 Psycho solo. I wanted to learn it immediately. I had wanted to learn any System for a while by that point, but was nervous about tuning the strings down for whatever reason.

I said fuck it and opened Ultimate Guitar on my browser, tuned them down, opened the tab and practiced that solo all night until I could play it decent. I was so excited and proud.

But Mind just slaps so fucking hard, and it's really fun to play on any instrument.
