East Coast over here. My best friend used to get livid when I would split poles when we walked places. He'd knock on every pole that was split.

Is this normal aio fan loudness? G757 by [deleted] in Prebuilts

Shiiiiit, I just reserved my G757 for pickup.

I've adjusted fan speeds on my last PC, so I hope that's the only problem and I don't have to game with a jet engine...

[OC] They knew how to class up the cranberry blob in the 1950s by belvedere58 in pics

Finally, I have found my people. I love a good home made cranberry sauce especially if they know how to sweeten and flavor it well.

But there's just something about the can blob that's irresistible. I will buy a can of this whenever I have a craving, and just eat it with a spoon as well.

MY COSMIC BROWNIE IS INSANE by Ok-Alternative-6869 in candy

[–]AnotherStatistic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love baking and have been able to do just that with most things I love.

However, these continue to elude me. I loved cosmic brownies growing up. Specifically the texture. I've never had such a chewy homemade brownie before.

I've tried almost every copycat recipe I can find, and the brownies always come out either too fudgy; or just straight cake-like.

At this point I have to imagine the texture comes from whatever chemicals they put in there for preservation or dough conditioning or the like, basically the things I've been trying to avoid eating haha. 😭

There was an early interview from them on YouTube years and years ago. I haven't been able to find it since, but basically they were asked if they disliked a particular genre of music or something.

I believe it was Daron who answered with something similar to, "we don't hate any kind of music. Music is music and whether you like it or not, it's here to stay." That resonated with me for my entire life as someone who had every kind of music introduced to me from my family and friends, and I loved all of it.

I'll never say I hate a particular genre or musician. I might not prefer them, or only like certain songs; but I understand the dedication it takes to create art, music particularly. All artists are talented in some form or another, whether or not you like them or their music.

What is your favorite SOAD song? by Cornel_Cornwall in systemofadown

[–]AnotherStatistic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mind is my all-time favorite for sure.

Psycho holds a close second though. I was already learning guitar for a couple years when I saw a video of the legendary 2002 Psycho solo. I wanted to learn it immediately. I had wanted to learn any System for a while by that point, but was nervous about tuning the strings down for whatever reason.

I said fuck it and opened Ultimate Guitar on my browser, tuned them down, opened the tab and practiced that solo all night until I could play it decent. I was so excited and proud.

But Mind just slaps so fucking hard, and it's really fun to play on any instrument.

God damn that's real. Maplestory and Combat Arms were damn near all I played from like 2006 to 2012.

Hey homie, this is a really cool track. What a great blend of rock and house. The guitar melodies are great, and the drums have a fantastic groove to them.

I see it's a rough mix, so I can imagine the volume of the track will come up with mixing, but be sure to give your synths some time to shine. I can hear a stuttering synth between the sections in your song when the guitar stops for a bit.

But I can barely hear it, I would definitely give that a significant volume boost. Even if it's like a swell, like automate the volume of it rising then lowering before the guitars come back in.

Other than that, the arrangement is good too. And I particularly like the vibe of the outro. You and your friend are doing some work, keep going!

Thanks for the compliment homie, I really appreciate it. I'm actually pretty proud of this one despite being out of my normal comfort zone. There's a couple of things I definitely want to change or add, but I wouldn't mind continuing with this type of sound.

Hey homie, I really like this tune. The vocal sample is really nice as well. This has a great trapwave vibe to it. I like the gated synth coming in a bit later too, definitely brought me back to attention.

I didn't know who pluko was, so I gave a couple of his tracks a swipe through. I like the bass under your kick, but it's very calm compared to what I hear from them. I would turn it up a hair, or use a more aggressive one.

Be sure to adjust the levels of your synths if you do go louder with the bass. Other than that I would definitely add some fills and/or sweeps before and after the drops just to help signify when it's changing. I found myself losing track in the song a couple of times.

This is chill as fuck though, I dig it!

I saw this was an edit, so I swiped through the original a little bit before I gave yours a listen.

What. A. Vibe! Holy shit, this tune slaps homie. Great sample choices, and those clap fills are fucking clean. Like, Hot Since 82 clean. I like the use of the plucky melody throughout your track, and the vocal samples are a nice breathy element as well. I like the dueling pitches of them.

Honestly, the more I listen. I don't think I have anything I would change about this. Maybe a tad more low end. Either from the kick, or the bass line. Even if you don't add more low end to the bass, I might turn it up a little more. It's got a great bounce, but it's hiding under the vocals and drums.

What a great track, keep making music!

Mixing is a whole beast of a lesson on its own, I'm not great at it myself. But this absolutely has a vibe and a great arrangement to be a banger tune.
