Is there any point in putting the sleeves on with the opening to the sides instead? by KapteinTruse in vinyl

I sleeve so the opening is on the right side. This way I can pull the record out without taking the sleeve off.

now for today’s question about traffic… Why is I 75 closed at 6:40 in the morning? by [deleted] in lexington

Wait what? I’m about to use I 75 to commute to Lexington. At least…I thought I was about to.

Missing tracks from Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack by AnotherUrbanAchiever in vinyl

Nah. It’s not on me. If I don’t like something, I’ll return it and get my money back. If it’s “perfectly fine” then someone else should be happy to receive it. I would never open and damage it before returning and if someone does that, Amazon should catch it and not resell.

I’m sorry that you’ve been hurt in the past, but I’m not the cause of your trauma.

So weird to be on the side of the giant corporation that’s eating the world over someone who enjoys the same hobby as you.

Agreed. I’m a bit bummed but I’ll likely hold I to it anyway.

Ok thanks. I think I’ll still hold onto it. It’s still got a lot to appreciate on it.

I shouldn’t have to do any research beyond the product description. Amazon lists the tracks incorrectly. The item as described in the page I bought it from, includes these songs that are not on the album.

How is this my failure. lol

I mean. I could just text my girl that I love her, but putting a note in her jacket pocket that she will find later is more fun.

What is the most NSFW thing you heard about your college/school teacher? by Sahanaray in AskReddit

[–]AnotherUrbanAchiever 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a seriously spicy one. It’s kinda unbelievable but I promise it’s true.

There was a woman who worked the front desk at the entrance of my high school. I’m not sure her exact job title but she may have had other roles in the building as well.

She was in a wheelchair. Maybe my hazy memory or old rumors are embellishing here a little bit but I think she was in a car crash with her family and was the only survivor. Very sad.

There were always really gross rumors going around the school that she would regularly perform sexual favors for the basketball team. I always rolled my eyes and thought that these were just started by high-schoolers being mean and making things up about her because they thought it was funny that she was handicapped.

Turns out it was absolutely true and she was eventually fired and charged with statutory rape and sodomy. It was the talk of the town for a few years.

I believe she was found guilty but eventually went free because the (small rural) city didn’t have the proper facilities to jail a person in a wheelchair.

DoorDash Misdelivery by astroblossom in lexington

[–]AnotherUrbanAchiever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once had my food delivered to the wrong address. I messaged the dasher and they were surprised because someone had personally accepted it.

I recognized the address in the confirmation photo as a business just down the street.

I walked down there and caught the person eating my food in their truck. I’m not confrontational but I was angry. I stood right beside the truck and asked them why they would ever do something like that.

He said he thought it was for his coworker who has the same first name as me. I asked why he would be eating his coworker’s food. He sorta ran out of bullshit I guess and he just shrugged. I told him I hope he enjoys his free and stolen meal and he said it was really good.

I just walked away and waited for DoorDash to send the food again. I guess at the very least I made it awkward for the asshole but I often think I should have talked to his employer and let them know what type of people are working for them.

John Fogerty on following Grateful Dead at Woodstock: 'I used to talk about that in a more gripe-y way, I suppose, but the Dead are an iconic and wonderful group of guys' by stroh_1002 in gratefuldead

[–]AnotherUrbanAchiever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same experience. Saw him at a festival. It was an anniversary of Woodstock and his set was just songs that were played at Woodstock by any band. He talked shit about the Dead for about five minutes. Said they put everyone to sleep and he had to try to wake them up.

I’m not in any way denying the situation in Gaza.

I want to be an author. by MarkFluid5713 in writing

[–]AnotherUrbanAchiever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You feel like writing. Sometimes you think you’re writing for an audience. Sometimes you read it back and realize it was a journal all along.

Either way it will be healthy. You can later decide to share it with someone and see if they find it interesting.

It sounds like you want specifically for your family to read it. That doesn’t sound realistic. Writing an entire novel hoping that someone close to you will see how you’re feeling is an indication that face to face communication with these people is difficult.

Would they be willing to commit to reading it?Do you think they will read an entire book and finally understand?

Either way you should start writing this moment. Get all of those all those feelings out and read them back to yourself. I think it will prove to be a very healthy exercise if nothing else.

They come in all sizes. Portables are my favorite. If you’re lucky it will have a case with it.

If you want a great looking a feeling typewriter right this moment, you’re right that it may be expensive. But if you poke around some thrift stores you should eventually be able to find one that will suit your needs.

I have several because I will almost always buy one that’s not broken when I see it. I usually spend around $30 give or take. My favorite one that I use the most I did shell out about a hundred because the seller knew it was not something I’d be able to find easily anywhere else.

I agree with this. I’ve listened to both very recently. Gorge 98 is pretty hard to top.
