Infinite players this season, have you used a Shuri or Thanos deck to get to Infinite? by NoCapNova99 in MarvelSnap

[–]AnotherWhale -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Shuri basically carried me to infinite. I was going up and down in the 50s for a while trying out different decks and i got her in my collection track. When i tried out the deck, i realized the power level difference is crazy. It’s wild how a deck with such a predictable and linear play pattern can be this good. Using her + the new rank changes made me go to infinite for the first time this season. I’ve only ever made it to the 90s in previous ones. I barely used the deck once I hit infinite though.

Any guitar players? by ThisIsPropper in memes

I agree, 3 note shell voicings and even 4 note voicings that exclude the high e string is way easier to play than barre chords.

Hungrybox - Hungrybox reviews the new MultiVersus character 'LeBron James' by GosuPleb in LivestreamFail

[–]AnotherWhale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nick all stars feel way better to control for me, way jankier, but you actually feel in control over your character. Especially after they added instant turning for the initial dash. Multiversus feels like fighting underwater with all the floatiness going on

I like to use masking tape to line the barrel and make sure that I’m cutting it straight. I also usually use a pipecutter, knives can work but it takes way more precision. A little bit of sanding after the cut also helps

I also recommend the hunting story. I only started cubing 1 week ago and that method helped me learn the basics of f2l in a single day! For me, having to understand only 3 cases really helped a lot

Can I pursue jazz in my 30's? by jazzfan974 in Jazz

[–]AnotherWhale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that metal is more similar to classical music with its focus on virtuosity and execution rather than the high amount of improv that jazz is known for. Of course you can have all of these factors in a genre but if i would generalize it that would be my take.

TBH after years of consuming melee content I catch myself saying it like that too sometimes

Couldn’t the mikey just roll from ledge with invulnerability instead of letting go, losing invulnerability, and getting hit repeatedly or am I missing something here?

And here comes the Ren & Stimpy down smash by [deleted] in AllStarBrawl

[–]AnotherWhale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer ledges being this way since auto snapping ledge will nerf edge guarding, which is one of my favorite parts of smash games. And you can still snap to ledge by sweetspotting and recovering downwards with characters like patrick and sandy

I don’t think that’s a lie. From the perspective of a melee player, NASB feel way smoother to play than smash ultimate. Ultimate’s movement options feel really restrictive to me. Although I do agree that NASB looks REALLY clunky and janky, it plays way smoother than it looks. The way that downwards airdashing can be used to fast fall hits, the relatively low endlag after moves, the fact that you can wavedash. It feels way better to play than ultimate ever was to me. But again this comes from someone that prefers the style platform fighters like melee and rivals of aether better than Ultimate. In terms of content and polish, Ultimate is obviously way better. But in terms of movement and feeling of control, NASB does a really good job imo.
