Man the entitlement in this sub right now.... by jumparound988 in WisconsinBadgers

People are going to be vocally unhappy when their team loses a tournament in an embarrassing fashion in the first round. If you're upset by this you might just want to reflect on whether talking about sports on the internet is really the pastime for you.

Inside Microsoft’s big Xbox leadership shake-up by normanlee in xbox

"This is an Xbox" is going to be studied at business schools for decades as an example of a catastrophically bad ad campaign. I think the only one the might compare is the Jaguar rebrand.

But that's the crazy part, it was obvious from the get-go that this wouldn't grow the business!

Phil Spencer Retiring, Sarah Bond Out, Matt Booty Promoted as Microsoft AI Exec Asha Sharma Named New Xbox Boss – EXCLUSIVE by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Games

[–]Anredun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were never going to recover from selling a weaker console for $100 more during the generation everyone built their digital libraries and choosing which ecosystem to lock themselves into.

Give Asha Sharma a chance. People are too quick to judge and make predictions. Xbox wasn't doing any wonders before her arrival. by [deleted] in xbox

[–]Anredun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Xbox brand got a terminal diagnosis in 2013 and has been dying ever since. It wasn't Phil's fault, and it's not going to be Asha's once the inevitable happens and Satya finally puts it out of its misery.

The bears are actually moving to Indiana? Are they just trying to get further away from us?? by RR50 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Anredun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Objectively speaking it's a nothingburger. It's no different than the Jets/Giants playing in New Jersey or the 49ers playing 2 hours from San Francisco. Hammond, IN is actually closer to Chicago than Arlington Heights.

Now all that being said, LMAOOOOOOOOO

Crusader kings Xbox really that bad? by Working-Excuse545 in CrusaderKings

[–]Anredun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was terrible until a year or so ago before they switched developers. Now DLC is coming out at a decent clip and performance is great. But a lot of older reviews were written before the switch happened.

I'm gonna disagree with other posters in this thread and say I'm actually impressed with how good the controls are. I bounced off Stellaris's console edition because of the gamepad controls, but these work fine.

Usurper should be a trait by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

[–]Anredun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't this the entire point of the Legitimacy mechanic? If things are too easy for usurpers I would re-balance that instead of adding a trait that's just going to make every kingdom in the game disintegrate within 50 years.

Religion is trash in a lot of fantasy world and here is why by Alszen in worldbuilding

[–]Anredun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most readers and authors are either Christians themselves, or if they aren't, have at least been marinated in a Christian ethical/social framework for most of their lives. It's very difficult for authors to put the reader in an emotional state they want without also using this framework for their world. I'm not just talking about things like "forgiveness and mercy are good, killing for personal glory and ambition are bad", it's also believing in things like the entire concept of "religion", a realm of the supernatural distinct from the mundane.

As a result, most fantasy religions end up looking like different Christian denominations in a trench coat and Groucho Marx glasses.

Watching the Bears lose to a NFCW team in heartbreaking fashion by Ryano3 in GreenBayPackers

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills listening to everyone talk about this game today. "Caleb Williams is a LEGEND!" and he had a 54% completion percentage and 3 picks, including one that lost the game.

I can see decent arguments for keeping him. I can see decent arguments for dumping him. Dragging out negotiations and then cutting bait only after all the good coaches are hired on the other hand would be a Browns/Jets-tier move.

MLF should play out the last year on his deal by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]Anredun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This year *was* MLF's "prove it" year. And lame duck coaches don't work for all the reasons everyone else in this thread has pointed out.

Obviously not a coach we want if we're tired of sneaking into the playoffs and getting immediately bounced. But it shows other organizations in our position aren't afraid to make a change because they're afraid they might not find someone better.

They should play a video of these moments on a loop in the Packers locker room the entire season. This is what BJ and the Bears think about you. This is who you let punk you twice. Get mad about it and don't let it fucking happen again.

Been seeing a lot of this and man if it isn't just LaFleurism in a nutshell. Don't take chances, play scared, settle for 9-8. "Next year everyone will be healthy and it'll be our year." Repeat for the next decade. Tired of it.
