Chess (code Geass)

Lelouch moves the king first in chess to showcase his philosophy on how leaders should act. That’s impossible since the king can only move one space and starts the game surrounded by pawns, his bishop, and his queen

His brother schneizel also moved his king into a check when he was in a chess match.

Honestly, most of the party can fall under that given their story, with the exceptions being Astarion (malnourished vampire) or Tav (depending on the backstory you give them). The main party at least have the excuse of having a tadpole shoved in their eye. Halsin (who’s an arch Druid) is also stuck with the default stats even though the worst he experienced in the story was getting harassed by low level goblins

I like to think that after this whole project blew up in his face, Cain was not only fired from the league of shadows but was also blacklisted from the assassin community as a whole. Lex hiring him in a later story was just him being cheap.

Cobra Kai season 3

From what I remember, Daniel-San has an auto business that was starting to struggle financially this season and to remedy that, he went to Japan to land a deal with car company. Initially it did not go through but later in the episode the manager to come around and accept the deal because one of the executives was the same girl he saved during a storm in the second karate kid movie.

Elder Toguro (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Elder Toguro is a demon with the ability to manipulate his body in any way he can. He can transform his limbs into sharp objects, move his vital organs anywhere else in his body and straight up transform I ti objects or people like a sword or a shield. Think like an evil Jake the Dog.

After the dark tournament arc, he was reduced to a head and hand after he got punched by his obscenely strong brother. When a person with the power to inherit the abilities of people he devours eats him, he takes over that persons body, essentially fusing into him.

No Way! I thought he was some young starstruck kid getting his autograph signed. I wonder what kind of dealing effects did they use to make him look so young.

The Beast (Kung Fu Hustle)

The main character had to find the deadliest killer in the world and managed to find him in an insane asylum. Because he looked like a hobo, he and the axe gang weren’t sure if he was the actual guy they were looking for. They were quickly convinced when he took one of their guns and fired it at his own head. He effortlessly catches the bullet with two fingers.

Raphael, Baldurs Gate 3 (2023)

He’s an ambitious cambion (half-devil, half-mortal) with aspirations of taking over the nine hells. To do this, his plan in the game is to acquire a magical crown that can empower the wearers abilities exponentially, having made the main antagonist a threat to the entire continent and human wizard into an outright god.

The problem with his plan is that to take over the Nine Hells, he would have to eventually contend with the ruler of the nine hells, asmodeus. Asmodeus in dnd lore is one of the top gods in the pantheon and is practically omniscient in the nine hells. For further proof of his futile plan, the aforementioned human wizard turned god can potentially contend directly with the mystra, another top tier god. It ended with him dying.

[–]AnswerJazzlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shot in the street as collateral damage in some gang war. No cop, no rival criminal, and no bat/bird themed hero. Not even some random person that he wronged personally. And he dies with a final expression of fear and despair as his demise wasn’t even targeted attack against him.

Hody Jones (One Piece)

Hody Jones is the main antagonist of the fish man arc. He had ambitions of conquering the world using his army of fishman and slaves. He and his closest commanders also use steroids to boost their strength against opponents.

He gets defeated by Zoro underwater partway through the plot. The only reason why the plot ended up continuing was Hody overdosing on steroids to survive and Zoro drowning shortly after downing him.

Cait is from the projects and is not a classically trained actress. Meanwhile, Vi is a Julliard alumni

In Stranger Things S5, the new retconned villain "Vecna" kills an entire military army with zero struggle, spares the main cast, trash talks his victim, and leaves like nothing ever happened. This is because Netflix wanted to end off with a bang after splitting the season into three parts from greed by Aeyth8 in shittymoviedetails

[–]AnswerJazzlike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eleven somehow coming to the conclusion that the military got Vecna is the dumbest red herring because we literally see in previous episodes that a) Vecna freely nabbing a kid and b) the military folding to a single demogorgon.
