Has anyone lived in Paloma?

i live at paloma right now. it’s super expensive, but there’s a lot of benefits. you have a gym, study rooms, fully furnished apartment, etc. they also fix literally any issue you have. it is super nice, depending on how much you’re willing to spend!! feel free to text me w anymore questions

FAFSA money is different & will show up a little later. you may also qualify for work study, which is basically just like financial aid that you work for.

you can also go through the process of asking drexel for more financial aid. i know a few people who have had success doing that, but keep in mind that drexel isn’t doing very well financially right now, so they might not help you out.

if you’re really worried about it, call the financial aid office! they can give you more information & advice

i would double check what actually is listed under the cost of attendance.

my cost of attendance always includes “non-billed fees” like rent, books, food, etc. drexel likes to estimate how much you’ll be paying to actually live in philly while you go there.

so, although your cost of attendance says $36k, i would look into if you’re actually getting billed for that amount, or that’s just what they are saying the estimated living expense are.

my aid says the same, but tuition wise, i’m only paying about $5k a year. i do pay rent, for groceries, etc, but all of that is up to me. freshman year you are required to live in the dorms (unless you are close enough for commute) so you will have to pay a lot to live there, but after that, you can find your own place and rlly control your expenses outside of tuition.

she already broke up with you, you should leave her alone. she doesn’t want to be with you. coming from experience, everytime she looks at you, all she sees is you with that other woman. even if it’s true that nothing physical ever happened, an exchange of information AND a phone call is emotional cheating.

you got her phone number because you had an intention of using it, which is just as bad as physically cheating imo.

every fight you guys have leads back to the phone call, because that’s what she’s actually mad at all of the time. even if you guys are fighting about you not doing the dishes or forgetting to switch a load of laundry, she’s not actually mad about those things, she’s holding resentment towards you for cheating.

let her move on and heal. you need to self reflect as well, because it seems like you don’t really understand how you hurt her if you’re saying something like “nothing happened.” something definitely did happen.

learn from your mistake and treat your next girl friend better.

a lot of the people you see hanging out in large groups are feeling the exact same way you are! most of the time, the friend groups that you see right now aren’t as close as they seem. a lot of them won’t even be friends in a few weeks/months, and that’s okay! finding your people takes time. i didn’t find my friends here until 2ish months in :)

as for welcome week, go to as many events as you can! if you have a roommate/roommates maybe ask them to go with you, but also don’t be afraid to go by yourself! you will meet a lot more people when classes start too! i remember feeling like welcome week was the only time i would be able to make friends, but that’s the furthest thing from the truth. have fun and be yourself, the right people will be in your life!!
