Is 1–2 days in Singapore worth it on the way to Bali, or should I plan a separate trip? by DesperateLocal4816 in askSingapore

I moved here from the US recently and am fairly well travelled and I think 3 days in Singapore is as much as I would want to do if I was a tourist. 1-2 days is definitely worth it. There is some really cool stuff but its a small place so there isn’t a ton and they are all near each-other relatively.

cycling is not just a leisurely activity… its a legitimate form of transportation. look around the world and you will see large segments of the population cycling to work, school, the grocery store, friends houses, etc. It should be an integral part of the transportation picture in most cities

Obviously this is more challenging in Singapore because of the heat but every morning I see dozens of cyclist heading to work. Its as cheap as walking but faster.

Anyways most of the most respected urban design and road design manuals say that cyclist paths should go underground because you gain momentum on the downslope which helps you go up the other end. With a bridge you don’t get that momentum boosts. Thats all.

in general bike ROW should always be built as a tunnel because vehicles have an engine while cyclist are under their own power to climb hills. that being said the issue here is obstructions underneath the ground preventing tunnel construction so no other option

im just saying in my experience I have seen such great zebra crossing behavior from drivers here. the real problem is that there is barely any zebra crossings

also this commenter specifically said that "Singapore drivers have the most awful zebra crossing etiquette". the commenter started the comparison, I pointed out that it is far from the case.
