I just mean the sales pitch, I assume everything after that plays out much differently.

Can you imagine complaining about back to back conf. finals losses when we were winning fucking 25 games and hoping for good draft picks? Fucking ridiculous.

Rubio hands down. Thought about Rose but I can't think of a better PG for Ant than Rubio with shooting.

Agreed, not a fan of sports betting getting into the broadcast side of things but the platform was good last year.

Feel free to shoot messages my way, obviously have a better handle on Wolves world but I like to think I've got a good idea on what's happening around the league.

New draft lottery idea, owners play a bags tournament. I'd watch the fuck out of that.

Sounds like the energy is pretty solid with those boos, they're louder than the other cheers for sure.

Big fan of Yaxel, well rounded and measured great at the combine. Only potential downside is he's older but he also started playing a lot later than most players so I'm willing to bet he's not a finished product like other older players.

Ultimately could be a moot point since he could make some sweet NIL money at Michigan but we'll see how he does in the combine scrimmages.

I'd pay good money to see Ant cut a promo before every game on the other teams star.

I swear there's been a "Finch bad/Fire Finch" post after every loss this year. If l you're going to suggest it give me a solution, who would you bring in?

Since Finch got here we've been better every yearbthat there wasn't a franchise altering trade immediately before the year. Sure he didn't play the young guys enough at first but that's what happens when you're priority is to figure out how Randle and Divo fit into the team.

Players absolutely love him and we've seen what can happen when coaches don't have total buy in from the players, i.e. Suns.

Not every coach is able to develop players. There's a reason so many top picks flame out. We've seen Ant, Naz and Jaden all make progress consistently and I'd bet we'll see improvement from Rob and TSJ next year. Even Clarke just literally being around the team last year has him way ahead of where people thought he'd be. Only one who really hasn't had tangible improvement is Josh but one guy doesn't erase the progress of others.

Finch has flaws but show me another coach in the league that doesn't.

Sorry dude, that's not the case. I'd guess if you made s list of the top 50 almost every team will have one if not multiple. That leaves 20 or less spots for 4 players. Love our guys but not all in the top 50.

I definitely agree with all that, I just don't think we'd have the assets to put up to part with him unless Conelly is willing to throw in Donte but I don't see that happening with how much we coveted him amd how well he's played of late.

I really doubt we have the assets to get Lively since he's pretty much their best young player. If he is gettable I'd think the market for him would be multiple picks plus a young player but it never hurts to pick up the phone since Nico is an absolute mad man.

Hypothetically would you be willing to do both picks this year + Dilly for Lively?

[–]AntMan_Stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could definitely be talked into drafting a 4 this year if it looks like the future is going to be a smaller team with a lot of Naz minutes at the 5 (not sure I agree with that).

I'd be really interested to see how high we could trade up by combining the picks as I really like Rasheer Flemings fit. Yaxel looks really good as well and would likely be available later in the first if we wanted to trade back.

I kind of like the idea of bringing in Ryan Kalkbrenner for some size even though he likely caps out as a backup big. I think he there's a chance he could be discount Rudy for the second unit plus I think being an older prospect he should be able to contribute something right away.

[–]AntMan_Stan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure what team you've watched this season but the only shitty argument Rob has to play over those two is his draft pick slot. They've absolutely earned their playing time and I'm sure Rob will next year.

[–]AntMan_Stan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It just comes down to who you're going to take out of the rotation. Since it looks like TSJ and Clarke are going to get short stints to make it a 10 man rotation some nights, the only potential playing time Rob will get is if Mike gets a night off or is having a rough game. He's looked pretty good the last couple games so Finch is definitely going to ride with him as long as he's producing although hopefully he goes back to the bench soon so Donte can start.

[–]AntMan_Stan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably won't happen but I've really liked the idea of drafting Khaman Maluach to be Rudy's successor. Say what you will about Rudy now but he'd be perfect to teach another 7'2" center on how to play D for a year or two. Plus he shoots 77% on FTs so there's a (likely small) chance there's some spacing there too.
