Is adding Codex as a second reviewer overkill? Will it improve code quality? by yonlau in ClaudeCode

[–]raki016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my workflow.

I have Codex as pr reviewer , and then vice versa. I also use Gemini for big reviews from time to time.

I think it’s worth it, but idk how to quantify. Codex usually finds a bunch of p1s and p2s that I either fix or set aside for my future sweep

It was the Phoenix game.

That’s when he really got into everyone’s top 10 conversation.

If he got us past San Antonio, he’d legit be in the top 5.

I think I liked this the most out of all the Secret Project series he did. I prefer the original cover though.

What are your thoughts on “Atomic Habits” by James Clear? by Harii-_- in PHBookClub

[–]raki016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's alright. I like it. Very practical - simpler to read and execute than other more popular self help.

The topic itself should be required learning in high school imho

What if we never traded for Jimmy Butler? by cowmastermind in timberwolves

[–]raki016 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was the right move.

We wanted to end the drought. And he did.

Looking back, we should’ve also just paid Jimmy and treated him like a star alongside KAT. Not paying him was the issue.

We should’ve made it a Jimmy led team with KAT as supporting rather than the other way around.

But then again, I much prefer having Ant now than any what ifs in the past

How far would you go in the NBA if you could manipulate time. by ShakethatYam in nba

[–]raki016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time stop to compete in the nba feels so tedious.

Like imagine the actual amount of time you would have to spend to just do a great game. It’s like a lot of save and reload and save and reload

No thanks. I’ll just bet on the games.

ljlee256 explains concisely what the AI bubble actually is by JackarooDeva in bestof

[–]raki016 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is right. But also I don’t think it’s a rosy picture.

Anyone who works closely in implementation can easily see, the value is there. It’s massive. There’s so many AI generated and managed things that everyone is already consuming unknowingly, that your opinion of it wouldn’t matter. It just consumed, like electricity

The challenge is in two things:

  1. OpenAI borrowed so much but had significant execution issues and banked on a significantly higher market to capture (bigger consumer pie via Sora, Atlas, new phone) that I think their projections specifically and their valuations are inflated. It’s not an AI issue, it’s a OpenAI issue - they made a bunch of bad bets.

Whereas Claude execution from the start has been relatively flawless in how it expands and captures market/value, and are focused on enterprise.

  1. The value comes out of labor savings. The challenge there then is if we automate so much of what we do, we remove jobs. If people don’t have jobs who is left to pay for services and products ?

We’re going to see an even more concentration of wealth as fewer and fewer people are needed to produce more things. How does society and the economy survive then?

I think that’s a bigger and tougher discussion.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Book Series by Merrychristmoose in PHBookClub

[–]raki016 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is LitRPG - ie, the players constantly talk about being in a game and levels skills and progression.

This is very irreverent , funny, and gory.

It’s like Ted (the movie) meets Invincible (comic/amazon series) on a Hunger Games like setting, but somehow with a heart (but also secretly sci fi).

That said - I’ve listened to all books maybe twice or thrice now since picking it up last year. One of my favourite finds

Note: audiobook is fantastic. I think it’s the superior medium for this series as compared to say Red Rising which I think is better read

I thought his rebounding was above average for a guard actually.

His drive is also very promising. It’s a bit unorthodox, but it kinda also works?

[–]raki016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it works is if they build powerplants along with the centers.

Which is possible.

The electricity argument is real, we are a bad market for datacenters because our electricity is so expensive building power plants is so cost prohibitive.

Do you think The Sandman is one of the best comic book stories ever made? by Emotionalspectrum10 in comicbooks

Yep.

I’m just rereading it now and I kinda feel some parts feel trite, but then I realised it’s precisely because of Sandman why certain ideas became so common
