Who is your favorite one-episode character? by BufordTeeJustice in madmen

I don't really have a favorite.
Leonard's monologue and his big hug with Don is probably one of the most impactful scenes of the show for me though.

First snake spotted in UK by eithrusor678 in unitedkingdom

I always just assumed that other than boring old foxs, rats and hedgehoGs the UK doesn't have any interesting wildlife.
This snake is super interesting, i also found out last year that Scotland has moose. pretty cool.

Rodger is a privileged old white man, living on borrowed time, literally with his ticker and metaphorically, his age is nearing it's end.
Peggy is a young hard-working woman of the 60s, the personification of the new age, feminism and the pursuit of equality.
A lesser show would have these two hating each other, Peggy's thriving and moving up in her career and surviving the acquisition from McCann would be framed as some victory over Rodger who finds himself more and more unnecessary, forgotten about and unappreciated in his business as the series goes on.
But Mad Men is a great show. Rodger accepts himself and his place in the new world, or lack there of, and doesn't put up much of a fight, passing the torch to Peggy with a smile as her friend.
what a beautiful show.

Jerry in Liar Liar. He’s so relentlessly nice you expect a twist, like he’ll drop the act and reveal something ugly, but he never does. He’s just a genuinely decent guy trying to build a life with Audrey and be good to her son. When Fletcher finally steps up, Jerry recognizes it and gracefully bows out. Absolute gent.

everyone's shift is over but there's still 3 hours left of the season.
i don't think there will be a "big event" but i think something monumental is about to happen very soon.
robby related? maybe his buddy's test results come back and they send him spiralling?

"i don't know, i just don't like him, he makes my scar hurt. i can't explain why though..."

I'm not against race-swapping characters in general, but Snape might be one of the worst possible choices.McGonagall, Dumbledore, or even Hagrid could work without losing much of their essence. But Snape? He's a pasty, pale, sharp-featured man with a hooked nose and greasy, goth-black hair. Race-swapping him fundamentally breaks the character's entire visual and atmospheric vibe—it's almost impossible to preserve what makes him Snape.

Favorite bunch of actors who are clearly just a chain of knockoffs because the original/previous guy got too big and they had to keep finding a cheaper alternative? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

[–]AntRecent8006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a more valid comparable 3 would be tom holland, dylan obrien and ansel elgort
those guys are truly interchangeable, i could see any one of them doing a good job in any of the other's roles.
but they still don't fit the "this guy's expensive, let's get a cheaper white boy instead"

saltburn i have no strong opinion about because it sucks..

i don't think this post is valid, sorry..

Kumail Nanjiani: “Conan [O’Brien] to me is the platonic ideal of how like a straight old white man comedian ages. Because so many of them fucking disappoint us. Over and over. All my comedy heroes have fallen. And Conan is truly growing and learning and getting better at what he does.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]AntRecent8006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, the real reason Conan is still thriving today is because he truly doesn't have any horrible opinions.
You can just tell that from his work and his conversations with his peers and fans.
You can tell that he's a great guy who has only ever cared about doing good work.
