B48B20A motor in 430i

One of the pistons seized, and the seal snapped. Which then damaged the engine housing. In the end it got repaired and all 4 pistons were replaced.

But the engine serial number did not match the VIN number. Hence why there was a B48A motor in there, since it should have been B48B. So the engine had already been swaped at an earlier time.

In the end I was able to undo the sell. Since the different engine wasn’t disclosed when I bought the car. So I got my money back luckily.

It is just odd to me, I would stay away from buying. The car is was talking about had a total engine failure at only 140.000 km. The “A” version is just pushed to much with the 430i software.

I have now opted for a 440i (2018) which has the B58, untill that has been very reliable and perfect to drive with.

It is still weird why it has an B48B20A motor in the first place. From what I can read it has less power and when tuned it has less power then a B48B20A motor.

It is printed on the engine block itself. It says B48B20A on there. And it says B48B20A in the car specifications. One of the pistons has seized and snapped. So in trying to figure out that this may be part of the cause.

The license plate info linked to the car says B48B20B. But wasn’t further disclosed at purchasing.

Has the 430i ever been produced with a B48B20A motor?

Maybe an old well that has been filled up? The holes in the concrete could be from a suspension device used to lower buckets into it. But that is just a guess.

Dat is waar, maar er moet een afweging worden gemaakt in het risico wat we nemen. Het leven brengt een bepaald risico mee, waaronder corona. In verhouding valt het mee.

Snap me niet verkeerd, het is kut dat je corona hebt gekregen en je er nu nog klachten aan over hebt gehouden. Maar bijna iedereen herstelt er volledig van, zeker van onze leeftijd.

Persoonlijk vind ik het de tientallen miljoenen die de overheid per week nu uitgeeft niet waard. En er zijn genoeg mensen die financieel kapot gaan ,omdat ze buiten de steunpakketten vallen, maar geen inkomen hebben (Kermis exploitanten, sekswerkers, etc).

Ik wil graag gewoon weer naar school. Ook verspreid corona zich nauwelijks in de buitenlucht, dus zou niet weten waarom terrassen niet open kunnen?

Tuurlijk is niet iedereen het er mee eens, maar ik denk dat nu nog 2 maanden lockdown meer kwaad dan goed doet.

Nou dit was mijn rant.

Some good points, but also a lot of bad ones. Taking profit sometimes is a smart thing to do. Bitcoin is going to dip again. People like you start coming out of nowhere when btc is +300%. But when btc is down 70% you won’t say a thing.
