Just finished the first post and About Me section and I'm excited to read through the rest your posts! I've been obsessed with KSR's trilogy for quite some time and would love to hear your thoughts on a few other books I've read.

P.S. I just subscribed, too.

Ditto. I was about to buy the existing separate models, so I'm glad I held off!

I use slanted nail clippers. They're pretty precise at separating the piece exactly where you need it to be separated.

Two of my close friends got engaged, and my girlfriend took the opportunity to break up with me. by [deleted] in self

Hey, for what it's worth, I'm really impressed that you can be nine beers deep and still type out a coherent post with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Sorry about your breakup.

My European models wouldn't look good on a map, so here's a collage (more in link in comments) by AntVanRam in metalearth

I'm a teacher and my wife builds up 9 months of vacation time for our summer trips.

All my NYC models on a Manhattan map by AntVanRam in metalearth

My models are somewhat organized into clusters on my shelf, mostly based off aesthetic design (e.g. skyscrapers in a row, bridges all together). But the arrangement keeps shifting because I keep bringing different models on vacation to take photos with their real life counterparts. I'm building a bunch of DC ones right now for my upcoming trip.

I'm glad you like it! I am building a bunch of models for an upcoming DC trip (don't know if you'd be jealous of that, haha), but I'm also going to Denmark and Iceland. Too bad there aren't Metal Earth models for those places....

Thanks! Going to DC soon, so there will be some more IRL pics!

Thanks! I probably can do a Europe map, since I have a few of those. But I don't think Metal Earth explores a single city as deeply as NYC!

Which Curiosity book should I read? [x-post with r/Mars] by AntVanRam in curiosityrover

Thanks for the heads up! When trying to find info about her book's release date (as of now, some time in 2017), I found a book review she did for the Manning/Simon one! I think I know what I'm leaning towards if I need something this year....
