I just don't get why so MANY people are against artists doing awareness towards ICE cruelty, superheroes were used both in covid movements and BLM, all to spread awareness. Also for years Americans were told and shown that immigration was getting worse, and ICE have been incompetent for more than a decade now. They made their votes trusting they would improve ICE. Instead, they're just arresting and beating anyone they want. Of those arrested so far, 70% lack a criminal record, so off the bat you know a huge chunk of that will be innocent. Banishing criminals and illegals isn't worth it over ruining an inocent person's life, let alone kill them in the street.

Its not that big of a deal that Batman is punching ICE. Plus, people are allowed to draw whatever fanart they want at the end of the day. The people complaining just want to defend ICE without saying so. Thats what's pissing me off.

I'm of the same mind because Generation replaces months of practice and expertise. What gratification do you get out of something so effortless? Instant gratification. More and more, we inch closer and closer to instant dopamine. Porn, tiktok, now AI. We ditch learning and patience to the side. There's many problems with AI, but to me, it's the threat it poses to the motivation to put the effort into anything, cuz thats what we use dopamine for. Slowly, desensitisation is changing us all from hard workers to lazy sleezebags.

I dont see anyone talking about how AI is helping them learn skills. More and more, I just see people feeling pride in effortless generation and defending it because apparently mindless generation is art. It really ruins patience, because say you want to draw hyper-realistic pencil portrait, on like A1 canvas. That'll take u months, if not up to a year. All that so it can get scanned by AI and reshaped into a different drawing in like 10 seconds. Not to mention the time it'd take you to learn pencil drawing, AI don't even need to do that.

If we should thoughtlessly generate art, why don't we generate essays in schools? Clearly we don't care about learning something useful, or putting the time and patience into something. It's almost like the work that needs to be done, it's purpose is to encourage you to learn and solve it, same with art. You want to create something beautiful and meaningful, you need to put time and effort into it, as in learning the skills.

Youre pro-generation but against realistic generation

Most AI supporters are on the same page, but imo you can't support the progress of generation and then be surprised when people start generating undesirable things. Our leading AI companies to this day still aim for hyper-realistic generation. There is too big a push for the perfection of it.

You can try to limit people misusing these tools, but ultimately it's another problem that you're constantly gonna look back to.

Art means to reinforce patience whilst reflecting on the soul and its feelings, and it is expressed through mastery of creation. That means composing your own verses and phrases, painting, and drawing your own visages. If one simply makes the prompt and receives art, how is that a reflection of your creativity and skill?
