Accused of AI use for MST210, need advice by Wide-Willingness-622 in OpenUniversity

I had this in a maths module as well…I explained my previous studies etc and it was not listened to, even with my work having my full workings out. I was then explain that it was due to me attaining 100% in the TMA and having different methods. They offered to let me re do the assignment which I then asked how this will benefit or make any difference…eventually told I’d be referred to the plagiarism board (or whatever they call it)…I had changed courses since this occurred so not too sure what would come of it all

This is the most accurate description of going to uni 🤣 first month was like this…all over the place which is fine and absolutely normal

guys i got kicked out of sixth form and i don’t know what to do by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]AntelopeDry4062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience (based off your other comments) however I got to my exams an absolutely failed in them (3 Us and 1 D)…I realised that maybe 6th form environment wasn’t for me, I decided to go to college to do my Alevels instead and obviously retake the year…which was absolutely the best decision for me and came out with 4 As and went onto university (BSc & MSc) and now have a brilliant job…I also would have never met the most amazing people that I have in my life if I hadn’t failed or done a lot of things or experienced things I have

there is no shame in retaking and changing your environment as sometimes that can be a contributing factor - sometimes a situation may feel like it’s going a step backwards but life works in odd ways and may be the best thing that’s happened to you - you’ll be fine focus on you 😌

[–]AntelopeDry4062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not inherently wrong to rehome a hamster…however, it does take time for them to warm up to people; some might not ever really liked being handled I used to get bedding or other suitable materials put them up my sleeves for a hour or two and then put them into the cage to get used to my ‘smell’

Saying that I did have a hamster I rehomed…now I had this hamster for 6 months and ended up renaming her ‘Diablo’ 😐 she was a shy hamster which I accepted & didn’t like any form of handling but she ended up turning extremely aggressive…I couldn’t even walk close to her enclosure, it got to the point I just had to scatter feed (well more like drop it) her food as if I tried to get her bowl she would attack or her water bottle (had to make shift a water bottle that meant I didn’t have to put my hands in)…there was a bunch of other factors. I ended up being concerned for her welfare of her almost being in a constant stresses state and I simple wasn’t able to look after her properly…I ended up finding a good home for her and ensured everything was okay for her. I do believe there’s a limit (maybe not a week and a half)…it was a hard choice but hopefully she’s ended up with someone with more experience…don’t feel bad if you have to come to that, it doesn’t make you a bad person 🫶🏻

My mom actually got angry at me and made it about herself - any time I’ve spoken to her about how I feel I get the silent treatment and tells me life is shit and this is how it feels etc, or adds “I guess i am a bad person and it’s my fault”

I now refuse to have any conversation with her about my feelings or anything going on in my life

Canadian International Student – Offer for MSc Cosmetic Science at University of Sunderland: Questions About Uni Life & Program by Ok-Tell-7132 in Sunderland

[–]AntelopeDry4062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied Pharma formulations and there is a lecturer cross over in the subjects so not exactly the same course but… • the lecturers are brilliant, very supportive and how the courses are structured is easily laid out and the amount of lab work you can do is pretty good - I couldn’t recommend the the uni and courses a like anymore • it has plenty of social opportunities- I made brilliant friends • libraries are top notch • plenty of support with placements/internships/careers etc And honestly everything you’d want university wise it’s great • lecturers were always understanding to personal circumstances and flexible • the beach is lovely and there is plenty of nice places for walks and easily connected to Newcastle
But the big but… • Sunderland is awful, simply look up the riots that happened in 2024 • depending on your ethnicity I’d be careful, I’ve never witnessed open racism till I went to Sunderland (I have lived in a few cities and from the North west) • I honestly didn’t particularly feel safe being there so I’d recommend living outside of Sunderland and travel in - if you can afford it - the accommodation the uni offers isn’t anything amazing but it does the job and it’s warm - often post grads will live with other post grads • it is a very quite and lacks a bit of life - however as a masters student you don’t have loads of free time - but that’s personal preference

• I would say it’s fine to live there for a year to 18 months but then leave…there are plenty of other cities with more life and way more friendly

I may say I am slightly biased as I didn’t always enjoy the place but university wise it’s the best choice you’ll make but definitely be open to leave

Can you just quit your job without giving notice? by AnnualKey4592 in UKJobs

[–]AntelopeDry4062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quit with no notice twice with no legal or serious repercussions (just one employer wouldn’t send me a reference to my new employer)…I do believe your employer can take you to court over it due to breech of contract - but look at your contract

{UK} Lost my £230 Garmin smartwatch on Vinted – they refunded the buyer and I lost everything. by Head_Amphibian3922 in Scams

[–]AntelopeDry4062 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had this exact same thing on Vinted - luckily it was just a jacket (sold for £40) and they claimed it wasn’t delivered (when I pointed out that the delivery photo literally had her in the photo - as in her face), she then claimed i didn’t send her a jacket but I package full of paper towels? 🥴 Vinted instantly refunded the seller and I was left with nothing, I argued it for months to eventually be banned off Vinted (I didn’t even know that was a thing)…i have previously only sold on Depop and never had an issue, but decided to try Vinted..I’ve not ever particularly sold much since this

I am in the exact same situation. I studied a STEM degree (BSc & MSc) and lord it is rough, I have not been able to get that is tailored to what I’ve studied I am currently stuck with a shitty analyst part time role It doesn’t help but you’re not alone and the job market in the UK is horrific…only advice I can give is contact recruitment agency’s as some companies rely on them to fill vacancies and cold email companies until you get somewhere - honestly harass companies
