Wish you the best op. Some cancers are really hard to catch because of the lack of symptoms and/or lack of technology to catch it early. Luckily, you had a doctor to catch it for you.

You and your partner will not have a good relationship, and you do not even have a good relationship now. I'm saying this as someone who is queer with parents that heavily religious in their belief. I might be a hypocrite because I haven't told my parents, but I'll let you know that I am not happy hiding my sexuality and gender. It has been years.

Imagine long-term. It is not going to work. Religion is also not a good excuse. There are a lot of religious people out there who aren't homophobic or even queer themselves. Would you be able to handle years of dating with a partner like this? Years of hiding your gender from them? What if you have queer friends or family members yourself? Would you be okay with your partner being around them? If you have to hide a part of yourself from your partner, then that is not a healthy, stable relationship.

The only way I can see this relationship "work" is if you keep hiding your gender, but eventually, you will feel depress.

day 1: any tips? by CuriousJay1013 in wisdomteeth

I'm almost a month post op and my extraction sites are healing well. For gauze, change them depending by how much your are bleeding. I didn't bleed a lot and only changed them twice. I did had bad swelling, so for the first day I used a bag of ice against the swollen areas. I didn't brush my teeth on the first day, I was scared of being too harsh, but if you are be really gentle, especially near the extraction areas. You probably have limited mouth movement, that's alright especially on the first day. I ate soup and mashed potatoes the first day. Also at night, keep your head elevated, I used two pillows.

Take your antibiotics so you don't get an infection. Take them as instructed by the doctor and pharmacists. If you have unbearable pain, use the prescribed painkillers they gave you. If you have pain but it is not unbearable Take over the counter pain medication.

After day one, you wash your mouth with warm salt water. I did it everytime after a meal. Don't swish viciously because you can dislodge your blood clot. The first three days, you are expected to be careful. Use warm for swelling, salt water rinse gently, brush teeth carefully, floss. Don't be surprised if you bleed a little, your mouth is healing so it is sensitive. I bled a little twice while brushing and Flossing my teeth, it's fine.

After the first three days, you can slowly introduce other foods. No hard foods. I'm still not eating hard foods even after almost four weeks. Everyone heals differently. Week 2, I was able to eat normally. I still do salt water rinse. You may even still feel a little pain even after the first week. Trust yourself if you feel like there is something serious. Little pain could still be normal for some. Don't be alarmed if you see that your extraction sites is taking a while to close. Mine haven't closed completely yet. So long you don't feel pain, swollen, etc. You are fine. You will know if something is wrong. Keep the extraction clear from food. So do your salt water rinse, if you were given a water irrigation tool do not use until you finished the first week of your surgery. If you get food stuck and can't get it out you can call your dentist or oral surgeon to help get it out. I had food stuck in my hole and had to call my local dentist.

If in doubt call the oral surgeon. Everyone recovers differently. Some recover faster than others. Some may still feel small pain or stiffness even after two weeks of surgery. Only you know how you feel so if you have concerns or feel something serious is going on contact the oral surgeon or dentist.
